The position in which you sleep at night--whether it's all curled up in a fetal position or sprawled out across the bed--reveals your personality, Reuters reports of new research from Britain's Sleep Assessment and Advisory Service. Led by Chris Idzikowski, the team has identified six common sleep positions and the personalities of the people who sleep that way. "We are all aware of our body language when we are awake but this is the first time we have been able to see what our subconscious says about us," he told Reuters.

The six basic sleeping positions and the personality traits:
--Crouched in the fetal position: Shy and sensitive
--Soldier position (flat on the back with arms at the sides): Quiet and reserved
--On the side with legs outstretched and arms down: Social and easy-going
--On the side with legs outstretched and arms outstretched: Suspicious
--Flat on the tummy with hands at the sides of the head: Brach and gregarious
--On the back with outstretched arms and legs: Unassuming and a good listener

Crouched in the fetal position is most common way to sleep, assumed by fully 51 percent of women. The most unusual is on the stomach with only 6.5 percent of respondents saying they sleep this way. Once we adopt a preferred sleeping position, we rarely change it.

^but only on the weekends when i'm not tired after work.......after a twelve hour shift i fucking toss turn fall off the bed sleep walk..............what kinda personality trait does that reflect?...........

I can't remember i jus stay awake till i can't be bothered anymroe then fall asleep on the spot for like days on end...

my favorite sleeping position used to be head down on my school desk...but since I dropped out...I think I sleep on my side with my armz and legz outstrached...then I put my arms to my side...and then I out strech them again...and the cycle goez on for the rest of the night...which is usually only a coupla hourz...DAMN THIS INSOMNIA!!!!!! By the way it's almost 6:30am as I'm typing this and I still ain't been to bed yet...lol...yup...

also a lotta times right when i fall asleep i have the most realistic dreams. i find myself in places ive been before. and ppl are there that ive seen earlier that day. and then everything goes black and i cant fuckin move for like 5 seconds and im back to the real world. and i fuckin jump in my bed. i look at the clock and its like 10 minutes after i fell asleep. man that shit is weird does that happen to anybody else i think i might have smoked more sherm than i thought i did before.

I do that, and I jump up in bed. I did that in school once...fell asleep on my desk during a test and suddenly jolted awake and slapped my desk, and everone looked at me. but word, sometimes I have dreams, and I can't tell if they really happend or not. I can't distinguish between dreamscape and reality.

ummmm i sleep mostly on my stomach........ and sometimes on the side with the outstretched shit........ brach and gregarious...... thanx alot people.... and im the fuckin minority too..... i havent experienced this in a while
