I just listened to the gift the curse in depth and he does actually have quoteables out the ass, i just didnt catch them the first time i listened to it because i was just feeling the beats etc, but this convinced me he's pretty dope:

I really could give a shit about Jay-Z, but he does have some fine women in his videos.

I think Jay-Z is alright, he has some good song i think, i listen to his songs time to time. Hes alright with me.

Some of his songs are good......then others are boring.....

Jay-Z be saying alot of dope shit... alot of his lines DO go un-noticed... but if you listen, he is dope... like on reasonable doubt.. that whole album was dope.. that song 22 2's is dope... he is nice

Jay-Z is pretty dope, i mean, he has alot of killa lines. Especially in Gift n' Curse and Vol2. Hard Knock Life. I think he should've spanned his career out more, rather than retiring so soon.

jayz is ill.. hes got mad haters but.. its all in the songs... reasonable doubt.. every track is hott... the dynasty.. every track is hott.. the blueprint was hott.. blueprint 2 the first cd was aight the 2nd was heat.. cant wait for the black album.. sux hes retiring.. o well tho he been in the game for sooo long... roc-a-fella is doin big things.. now they got M.O.P. and twista is straight ILL.... yes.. Jay-Z is strong, his lyrics and his style have changed dramatically, not for the worst though, he is good to listen to

his raps are either really good, or just plain succk... too bad he done after this album

its really a question of whether hes trying his hardest or not. when he isnt, expect multis and filter lines about played out material, when he is, he's one of the best rappers rapping.

The thing with Jay is that he's a biusnessmen/emcee. Sometimes he does songs for the mass appeal and commercial arena..and even though he one of the better comercial rappers he dumbs down his style to fit that crowd...But then he's on some real shit (i.e. the first Blueprint, mixtape freestyles) Jay-Z is that nigga.....

I don't listen to him, just don't ...no real reason really. Just not my interest.

no question jay z is the illest and my favorite emcee by far, got all his albums, my fav is reasonble, vol.3 and blueprint, for those that dont think his is good please listen to these cd's or any of them and then make your honest assessment of him. his wordplay is nice, his flow is so dope its scary, his quotables are amazing, just an all around dope ass emcee, better than biggie, hard to say cuz biggie aint with us no more (R.I.P) but he is my favorite
