Classic Or Not?.

people name an album.....and persone below sayz whether it was a classic or not ...........
and a small explanation of why........

Tha Eminem Show.

^ not classic, but very close

has a few weak songs - drips, say what you say

and some that are created simply for radio play - without me, superman, business

2 of the less popular commercial songs (sing for the moment & cleaning out my closet) are great songs, but the best songs on the album were not released as singles (till i collapse, when the music stops, soldier, sqaure dance)

has a few annoying choruses (cleanin out my closet, say goodbye hollywood)

production sounds repetive, because 12 of 15 songs are majorly handled by eminem himself; not much variety

weak guest appearances... dre, dosent hold him any justice on say what you say & obie trice on drips doesnt do a good job for his first shady records recording ever... the D12 collab is dope as fuck though... all except for bizarre do extremely well... nate dogg singing the hook on till i collapse is pure illness... hailie jade shouting out "my dads gone crazy" on the song of the same title doesnt help much

to add to this, one song eminem REALLY SINGS, and although hes not horrible, hes no where near a proffessional singers level... he does do some excellent rapping towards the end though, so based on the rap performance, its counted as a great song

all in all, near classic, but not quite

next album: It's Dark And Hell Is Hot (DMX)

I would say classic~

Very solid album, with lost of hardcore tracks and only a few weak tracks. Good lyrics, incredible beats even his delivery is also good. I wish DMX would always make albums like this, let you know that this is the only album that i would buy of him.

7. Let Me Fly, #9 Damien,
10. Hows It Going Down,
15. For My Dogs
13. Stop Being Greedy

Ruff Ryder's Anthem, This was definitely the best single to be released from this album, easy going lyricis and a very unique beat. The hook is one of the catchiest ever. Gota love the Instrumental, the bass lines and repeating drums tops it. IMO This is the song that put RR up there.


Overall a solid album surely one of his best work

Next Album- Illmatic (Nas)

^^Thats easy

Prolly the greatest Hip-hop LP of all-time. Nas came out the gates so dope on this nobody has been able to except anything eles from him. He step the game up lyrically and introduce the next generation of hip-hop, and was so poetic and visual with his shit he touch a level in hip-hjop that quite frankly still hasn't been reached to this day, even by himself. Plus if you coming form the hood this album SPEAKS to you. IT's like a bible and shit because everything he said you been through and can relate.. Dope beats with Primo, Pete Rock and Q-tip at they best on the boards....
Definitely a classic


Scarface- The Fix

Basically, the best album released during the summer last year on mainstream charts. I don't like him, but I respected this album, not as much as the Diary.

has some great trackz and then to me had some average and some below average and thats why its not a total classic .. real close to classic i would break down every track but i have no time right now......just not as good as some of their otha stuff......
so almost a classic will try to break it down more later but no time.............

N.W.A .."Straight Outta Compton"

^ classic.... if only because it began ice cubs & dre's careers, and began gangsta rap..... ice cube went on to be a great rapper and dre went on to be the greatest producer ever... so i'd call it a classic

jay-Z : The Blueprint

easy, classic. CD was hott as hell. Even though alot went commercial they were still dope. Takeover (the exposing of Nas) was hott. Renegade most slept on collab ever. n the second half of the CD was straight fire.

some may hate me for this but All Eyez on Me Was not a classic n my opinion..kinda like Blueprint 2...a double cd wit alot songs but most were just mediocre..if he had the best songs from both cd's and made it a single cd...maybe then it would have been a classic...hard to tell which songs to pick though
my favorite Tupac cd was Me Against the World...just my opinion

with songs like "Juicy"....my favorite song on tha album
and "Tha What" i think its called
with him and meth on there that shit was hot.......
and "Unbelievable",...
those are my favoritez........
all around this is a solid album........
and with no hesitation i would call it a classic ...
his best album in my eyez..........

Obie Trice (Cheers)- Not a classic but was definately a great Freshman LP. Had plenty of great songs on it (Oh!, Don't Come Down, We All Die Someday, dayum the rest of the track names slipped my mind.

Diplomatic Immunity- Had it's moments, but NO WHERE NEAR a classic.

Next Album = Gangstarr- The Ownerz.
