Ive heard biased opinions and facts about the Nation. I want info from true Muslims concerning their practices and beliefs. You see, i feel like that their is a higher being, but I just.... im confused. Especially with events in my life as of late. I dont believe in Jesus, but I know there is a God. Anyone care to enlighten me?

Why do you believe in Muhammed (sp)? it seems to me that Jesus is largely discredited due to the fact that most refuse to believe that God would send a prophet. What facts support Muhammed as opposed to Jesus?

We believe that throughout the history of mankind, god has made different men prophets/messengers.... their jobs have been to spread islam around... the first was adem (adam)... then came others like nuh (noah), ibrahim (abraham), musa (moses), isa (jesus), and mohammed.... as you can see, many christian elements are here.... but the difference is, we dont believe that jesus is gods son, hes just a messenger (the 2nd last one) like the others... so jesus doesnt have as much impact on our religion as in christianity... and becoz of our views of him, the stuff about sacrificing himself from mankind, being gods son, etc. is not considered valid in islam... mohammed came after jesus, and he was the last messenger, because he achieved in spreading islam around the world... but he was still simply gods messenger, not a relation of god (allah) because we do not believe that god has any sons, daughters, a mother, or a father... he was the first messenger to spread islam around the world, therefore there was no reason for more messengers....

but to answer your question: we DO believe in jesus... but we consider him simply a messenger (the 2nd last one), not the son of god

I can tell you the root of the word Islam actually means peace. Is why I sometimes have it at the end of my posts along with Shalom and Irenic.

I... am not a Muslim. I would have Islamic beliefs, however the Koran is written in a language I don't read, and last time I checked it's forbidden to translate it into other languages.

ok i dont believe in jesus either... but im not sure what my beliefs are. I wear a cross around my neck, and i have one on my arm, but i dont knwo. I wear the cross more as a symbol of my grandfather who died... he gave it to me, and thats what my tat is of. But i believe in the scientific beliefs more than the bible... although some of the stories in the bible are soothing to hear... i dont know tho

It is hard to beleave in the new testament, i perosnally beleave that the second bible was made up, although it saids u have to accept jesus came back to make it into heaven, Apparently it isnt important to make up ypure mind on religeon to youre last days, but it isnt acceptable to change religeons, My dad beleaves cristianity and iSlam are based on the same thing...I still dont know

its forbidden for the Koran to be translated? there is a copy of the Koran at my old school... they have all sorts of religuos texts there.. i just always thought of it as blasphemy to be reading the texts of another religion..

well obviously, im only 16 and my religious belief stem from my parents.... but i will always be muslim because islam is the only religion to have never been changed based on beliefs... for example catholics and anglicans, protestants, jehovas etc. all share similar principles but have slightly different beliefs and interpretations of the bible... all muslims share the exact same beliefs, nothing changed at all. The two major sects, shia and sunni muslims only differ in who they believe should lead the organization of the worldwide islamic coucil... but in religious and holy beliefs, they are exactly the same... theres a few different sects like the baha and druse who believe in other things, but they arent considered true muslims by sunni and shia... so the fact that islam has never changed throughout history and all its members practise the religion the exact same way makes me confident it is the right religion for me...

the reason i believe in god at all is cos i believe nothing physically real can start by itself.. so the atom that expanded and caused the big bang would have to come from somewhere.. and my conclusion is a supernatural force..
