What MC's Changed the Most?

I would have to say Eminem. Listen to Infinite than listen to The Eminem Show...you'll see what I mean.

Baron Mynd 11-24-03 10:21 PM

Sure, Stan ..

Id say Rakim, kids changed his styles with the times and always stayed one of the greats..

Thats not changing, thats falling off. Tracks like squaredance are so fucking retarded its like he's just stringing together whatever words he can to make them rhyme to a beat.

Bleh..

Word!^

That's true too..

Dez 11-24-03 10:26 PM

wordizzle..

i would have to say Slug.

Sevens Travels was clearly aimed to be commercial, my proof is the fact that Trying to Find a Balance has a commercial beat combined with commercial lyrics, plus the fact that they practically shoved it down MTV's throats.

Slug lovers dont defend him, its true.

Crysis 11-24-03 10:26 PM

yea theres a big difference between changing and falling off......id have to say ...shit idunno

Accelerate 11-24-03 10:29 PM

I would say Nas
ILLmatic is definately a classic. Even to this day, it remains a pretty complex album and defined his signature style. Then It Was Written dropped, he tasted money, and after 2 years rap had been changing to money talk. I am..dropped and he was really a mainstream artist, songs like Money is my bitch, and Dr. Knockboot, showed a falling off. Nastradamus dropped and people consdered his legacy over. Stillmatic dropped and he returned to his roots, but not fully, with coming of age tracks like "Rewind" and "one Mic" that if they would've appeared on Illmatic, it'd probably be the best album ever, bar none. The Lost Tapes dropped, showing fans what should've made I am... a Classic. God's Son Dropped, and he still hasn't fell off from his return. Also, taking care of Jigga on Stillmatic to show his fans that he was back to Nasty.

Crysis 11-24-03 10:30 PM

Mr.Christensen 11-24-03 11:35 PM

biggest change LL cool J
at one time he was a tight lyricist and was feared in a battle
10 albums later he is what murder inc wants to be, greatest rapper about RB...dont get me wrong "hey lover" gets heavy rotation on my mp3player but i wish he was "hard" again....his canibus battle was good.... but i wanted him vs kool mo dee!

0==)IcEbUrG==> 11-24-03 11:43 PM

Snoop

Trah Siph 11-25-03 05:28 AM

MP~PHASIZ 11-26-03 02:21 PM

^He changed his style too, not as hardcore...

/:Ayura:\ 11-26-03 02:57 PM

I would say every single rapper changes all the time, purely because if rappers did the same shit they get boring.

Werd, he adapted....

RealThoughtz 11-26-03 08:19 PM

If you really think about it... Canibus... like.. if you listen closely.. on 2000 bc he was like a lyrical yet gangsta type artists.. and now then when mic club-rip the jacker.. hes back to his lyrical roots n shit.. not that he never was just he's toning down on his gangsta like one poet laureate dat was a crazy 7 minutes.. but listen to 100 bars.. a crazy 4 minutes.. but youll see a big diffrence besides the time he had rhyming lol

wogzta 11-27-03 01:12 AM

eminem show isnt laughable, it shows lyrical progress and maturity... if he kept raping mothers and fucking dogs he'd get boring eventually... but he did change heaps... and how can u say infinite is original? the lyrics are fucking awesome and its a tight album, but in case u didnt notice, the beats, production, flow and layout of the album sound very much like illmatic... he was biting nas' style back then.. just listen to the keys in the chorus of 313.. and listen to the intro of infinite

Xpress Lane 11-27-03 01:41 AM

Yea, Em did have to change ... raping kim and his mother was gettin old. What exactly was wrong with the Eminem Show?

MuhThugga 11-27-03 02:51 AM

Tupac....

He went from being alive to being dead......

wogzta 11-27-03 05:14 AM

^ i cant believe i didnt think of that... same thing happened to biggy... but since biggie was fat, his loss of weight when his body decomposed would make him slightly nudge the win from 2pac..

nas changed alot too... snoop.... nelly changed... he became even gayer

LM 11-27-03 08:38 AM

The Eminem show has gotta be one of the best albums I can think of off the top of my head....not the best but one of them

Baron Mynd 11-27-03 11:16 AM

^ lmfao .. you are jokinbg right? That shit is fucking pathetic, listen to tracks like squaredance, he just strings togtehert any fucking words that rhyme to a beat

Ja Rule > The Eminem Show

Cryptic Thoughts 11-27-03 11:31 AM

Blah....

Em isnt great...

Ja is garbage...

Meh...

Baron Mynd 11-27-03 12:05 PM

Vital Prophet 11-29-03 01:26 AM

OUTKAST-------they went from gangsta to a funky soul rap

KeyStyle 11-29-03 02:51 PM

Infinte Sucked, Too...

I Only Liked The SSLP & The MMLP...

Content 11-29-03 04:17 PM

half of infinite sucked..half was listen worth..
as well as the eminem show dor that matter...

hmmm...

Lauryn Hill..fly fugee member singer/rapper..new cd coming
Missy Elliot..battle shit back in the day to rapping/singing
Wyclef Jean..fly fugee to much more soulful singer/rapper
Sole..went from keep it real shit to a preacher pretty much
Ma$e..lol..he found Jesus Christ..and many collection plates
Eminem..straight up battle lyrics to many gimics and gangsta
Nas..fly rapper to gangsta character back to fly rapper searching
"Se7en"...keep it real shit to whiny love songs to both mixed

i like all these people..except ma$e..and theres many more
if anyone on here had made five cd's over a span of five to ten
years that third cd would be nothign like your first and your
fifth wouldnt be anything like the first..so dont say Aesop Rock
or Atmosphere is garbage cause they experienced life

Thunda_Rhymes 11-30-03 07:26 AM
