My Thoughts.
 

Firstly, I'd like to start by saying not to do useless freeposts in this thread. Also, this got kind of long.. With that said..

Alot of shit has happened with RB.com as of late. Most of you probably know the story. Well, for reference sake, I will put up my view on it all, along with my opinions and end this with a question.

About a week ago, Chrit and C-section were demodded for teasing a fat kid named ShEmY. Myself and the rest of the mods found this to be ridiculous, and right away spoke to Kalvin about it. Well, things were said and Kalvin decided that RB.com wasn't worth the stress that it was giving him. He enjoyed the building of the site/technical aspects much more than the content and running the site itself. So he decided to go on ahead and sell the site.

That brings us to two days ago, when I noticed 2 new admins on our 'who'se online list.' Right away, I knew they were the new owners, and PM'd them to let them know I'm here if they need help and that I'd like to talk to them about where they are wanting to take RB in the future. (I still have yet to have that discussion with them.. ) But, they didn't answer my PM.. so, I posted in the Mod Lounge. Still no answer from them. 20 minutes later I am de-admined, with no explination given. An hour later, he posts that he doesn't know me, therefore isn't having me as an admin.

This of course aggrivated me, which is something very few people have been able to do online. Normal RB is something I just do for fun late at nights, or inbetween college classes when I have a few minutes to kill. However, them de-adminning me after the time spent improving this site aggrivated me to no end.

I posted something like, "if I'm not re-admined by tomorrow, you both will regret it." They of course took this as a 'threat' and started acting more 'dickly' to me. ( I still say it as true, as most of the mods were going to leave with me if I wasn't re-admined. Love you guys.. lol) So, we started a chat. In this chat, Cprogress acted like more of a dickhead than anyone I have ever seen in my life and I'm not really sure why. I don't know if that's just who he is, or if that's just the image he was trying to uphold during this time. I guess it doesnt matter..

After about an hour of only hearing one line comments from these admins every 5 minutes or so, it was said that I would be re-admined only if they needed any help. Meaning, not anytime in the near future. Once that was said, Chrit, 13th, and C-section were all pissed off, as I have become friends with all of them through this site. They felt that it was bullshit, and began fucking around with things on the site. You may have noticed a battle or two of yours erased the other day, well that was because of them.

They were both banned, and I was re-admined later that night. However, with all the shit that happened, I'm still not sure I want to be part of this site that I helped so much in building. I checked a few minutes ago in the Mod Lounge and found an 'apology' post from Cprogress for acting like such a dick to me. So, basicically here is what I'm stuck with:


I don't have confidence in our new owners, at all.

My friends, have mostly all been demodded or banned.

I have been offered to go to another site and re-create it any way I'd like.

However, I still would much rather stay on RB.com, as it's become my 'net home.'


So, I'm curious what you all would do. Would you leave here, recreate a new site and start over? Or would you continue running a site and putting in your time for 2 people who have shown minimal respect to you, demodded/banned your friends, making this site 200 times less fun than it used to be?

I'm really not sure. I'm not making anything final until I think more about it, but right now I feel as though everything should be put back the way it was before the new owners, (meaning re-modding/unbanning) and we start over without them disrespecting the sites members and mods. Because right now I am heavily leaning towards leaving RB, (maybe I'll remain a mod occasionaly to check up on a few of you.. and put you in place.. ) and just recreating a site that I can have ran how I see fit.

So.. what are your thoughts? As I am quite torn.. :banghead:

Well .. the way you phrased the question actually sways us to say you should leave, but whatever, im playing no part in this. RB's been my home site since late 2000, its now almost 2004 and through that time, admins have come and gone. I appreciate the work you put ion here, but at the end of all the facts and arguing - its your decision. No one else can make it for you Brandon.

Cam... I really wasn't trying to sway votes either way. I just put out my feelings and opinions. I don't know how else I could have worded it. Fact remains, people are banned/de-modded right now, out of support and loyalty to me. I am not going to stay here if they can't come back..

(BTW, I knew your opinion anyway.. so the fuck you posting for? :p )

I explained the situation to cprgress...And he understood me , so he let me back...

First off I must say that the only post I would read that is long would have to be from The End...

With that being said, here is my view on this. . .

RB has always been a great site, with the exception of the herbs and etc. bullshit that goes on. The best I've gotten the chance to do is part time mod an inactive site. Never have I really been an Admin or Super Mod. Of all the sites that it would be great to mod RB would be the best, because of its activity level and the overall site quality with the battle polls and other neat features. I have always loved RB, even though I haven't been here as long as most of you guys. But if I were you Brandon I would stay, and I think Chrit, 13th, and C-Section should all be allowed back with mod-duties. Sure what they did was wrong, and a few of my posts got deleted. But it just shows how dedicated they are to sticking with the site and the Admins in it. Which I would love to have that as an admin as well. They had a right to be upset, and so did you. And right now without each of them RB has lost something great. 13th was a great mod, battler, and I was pretty cool with him, he had his own character. In Chrit we lost a s-mod that was extremely active and did more than any mod I've seen ever. He was also a funny and unique character and had the best record on the site, which shows his dedication to the site. C-section only modded EI, but he did a very good job at it, and was one of the funniest people on the site. And if we lost you then the site really wouldn't be the same. I remember the first time you left, I had just joined so I wasn't too upset like everyone else. But now with you leaving it would suck, your the best Admin I have seen, and I'm not being a DR either. I love to read your witty posts, and your jokes are hilarious. I saw you and Cyph Admin .net. And I wanna say that I would love to be a s-mod and get that site going. So get at me on AIM if you want. I'd make a dope mod, trust.

The first time I 'left', it was known I was going to be gone for only 2-3 weeks. The majority of the reason was that I couldn't keep up with the site while moving. So, this is pretty much far different. If I leave now, I won't be coming back here except for the occasional visit and sonning.

I don't know, but look, all Im saying, is you did a great job here, You told me over AIM that you wouldn't work for dickhead admins. If they apologized and want you to stay, then by all means stay. I'll be on both .net and here anyways since more people are going back over there. So I'll be seeing you regardless, but if you enjoy being an admin. here and the others apologized and want you to stay, then by all means, stay.

i think the new owners may be good for this site...apart from the fact most the dope heads who are vets are leavin...due to bein pissed...shitl take off after a while tho...just give this site some time...its lackin mods right now tho...admins need to apoint more mods since they all left and got banned...the I.R is being ignored n shits runnin a lil wild...blah

I talked to strobe, and have figured out what I'm going to do. I will be rebuilding a different site, while keeping my admin spot here. If he suspects that I'm doing anything shady, I told him to feel free to just knock me down to SM. As long as I'm still in the heirarchy at RB, I can't complain TOO much... Don't get me wrong though, I still feel whole heartidly that I should stay admin just for what I've done for this site, but I won't be heart broken either way. I told him all my plans for the other site, and he was fine with them. Including me installing a moddified battle hack from the original maker. So, this will give me a pet project to do while watching our 2 new owners attempt to go a in a new direction with RB. I wish them the best of luck and will still be around for whatever they need. I guess this will be like my 2nd home. And thanks for everyone who supported me when the nazis, er, new owners de-admined me..

Well, alot of RB's mods are going to go to my new site. I'm sure a few might mod jointly though. Once this is done, I will help the new owners choose out who should be a mod if they want my advice. I agree we need more mods now, and mod cuts from a few inactive mods.. So, give me a week to set up my site, and then we will set forth new mods.

well man ever since the dicks ( new admins) have been on RB has changed into a herb-infested place..and people who have put in hours into RB have either been banned or de-modded/admined

that seriously is fukt...normally i owudnt care cuz its jus the net but when i heard brandon was de-admined i was pissed off aswell because i remember there was a time when brandon and a certain someone had a fight about a certain something...and the end and him left for a while (2 months)...well when this happend RB turned into something similiar to what it is now...people were leaving aswell and RB was falling down and everyone said without the end in about 1 month it will be gone...well brandon came back to HELP rb come back and you know what?..it did..he probably is the most loyal to this site...he stays up late hours fixing it..D/L hacks to make it better..and basically making RB one of the best battle forums ive ever seen..and cyprogress had no reason for de-admining him..he said that because of Chrit and C-section that he didnt think that for him to be modding them that he cant be right and that he wouldnt be a good owner....what the fuck?...u can ask any respected person on rb and u ask him/her..is the end responsible and loyal they will say in YES no doubt...

^^well in conclusion...i think u should do what u feel....personally i would leave and go to a .net place...because these fucks (new admins) dont realise how much u are a part of RB..so leave like the rest of us and show them with you gone that this is gonna go down and they will be PM'ing you in about a month or so wanting u back or deciding that they want to sell it...so fuck them and fuck everyone who dissagrees...

what up, u probably don't know me but i just happened to stroll back onto RB and noticed this mess...coming from an former admin i suggest that you leave RB because its really not worth it, your time will never fully be appreciated

i built this site along with shadow and we both came to realize that it wasnt really worth it, these kids on the site don't really give a fuck, they just want their fancy sig a battle record and someone to reply to their shitty raps...i suggest building a new site...
