Nastradamus or I Am

I kno they both suck but if u had 2 choose
which 1 would u say is better?

Dappa Rappa 12-15-03 04:44 AM

First of all they dont suck, there both class albums... Nastradamus is better tho i'd say

wogzta 12-15-03 05:20 AM

^ your a stupid piece of shit

Both of those albums suck ass. It's Nas' worst efforts EVER. And it was a complete dissapointment, it was the albums that certified Nas' decline into gay commercialism. So hop off bling-bling dick and listen to Illmatic. Nastradamus, classic? Fuck no. It's even funnier that you said Nastradamus is better, because it's not. But it had more pop singles so I guess you were bubbling with excitement when you listened to it.

In conclusion = they both suck, but I Am was very slightly better.

YJ 12-15-03 06:13 AM

yea I agree wit wogzta
I have Nastradamus but its a mix and I never listen 2 it
tha only songs I listen 2 is Life's a bitch, it ain't hard 2 tell, street dreamz and the message which I added on der 2 make da cd more exciting I heard a few tracks from I AM and liked it but I wanted 2 hear Nastradamus
I think I AM is better even tho I haven't hard da whole cd

KoNcEpT 12-15-03 08:40 AM

I Really Think They
Are Both WHACkK...
But I'd Chose Nastradamus

Tuff Target 12-15-03 09:15 PM

I'd go wit I am, couple more of the hardcore tracks

although I dont see why everyone is running around bitchin about how horrible the albums were, I'll admit they weren't his best efforts but they werent no "c" true hollywood stories(a true blow)

Da NFamous 12-15-03 09:40 PM

Nastradamus i actually never felt it was a "bad" album in comparison to the rest of his career it was weak but it still had some good songs, 1luv.

Cuthroat 12-15-03 09:53 PM

Nas has some of the best lyrics in tha game i don't know why just cuz someone has a hit they suck not all mainstream sucks and underground isn't always better

EyE QuE 12-15-03 10:17 PM

Neither one of these albums sucked and i am was better.

Im tired of reading yo shyt wogboy. You start listening to rap.. what 5 years ago? you think you know it all. Jyeh they were weak albums but it still had couple of good songs. Uh how old were ya when they came out? get the fuck over it.

All i see you do is give 50 n chingy shyt. Jyeh they got no bangin lyrics but they gots good club songs.. and that shyt we need. Foolios just got into the game buying 8+ year old albums and just start geting it. Don't get me wrong Nas is one of my fav and i got tapes full of good shyt you NEVER heard of. Maybe you will after couple of years then start braggin about it..

Now dont call anyone stupid piece of shyt cause his opinion is different from yours.

MuhThugga 12-15-03 11:16 PM

My Nas collection consists of Illmatic, then skips to Stillmatic and beyond......so it is like his little slump never existed.....

and for whoever made the "just because they have a mainstream hit doesn't mean it is garbage" comment.....

Have you heard Oochie Walley???????

C-Section 12-15-03 11:17 PM

both albums are wack but i like i am more, because it has nas is like, and thats one of my favorite songs of all time.

Dez 12-15-03 11:18 PM

lol @ the kids who say Nas is commercial and thats bad then cry when i talk bad about Eminem.

homos.

YJ 12-16-03 04:41 AM

Nastradamus did have a few good tracks more like 5 well 2 me

wogzta 12-16-03 05:55 AM

1. I never said Nas was commercialized completely, I said I Am and Nastradamus were VERY commercialized. And you know this is true.

2. I never said all it's songs were wack. Most of them were though. Nas Is Like and a few others are an exception.

3. I said he's a stupid piece of shit cos he said Nastradamus is a classic. Anyone who claims to listen to real rap knows it is not.

4. I said those albums "suck ass". This means on a whole they are bad, not every single track.

5. There is a difference between Eminem and Nas. When Eminem comes out with a commercial album, he makes tracks for hardcore fans with lyrical content and meaning, as well as a few singles to sell. Nastradamus and I Am were complete sell-out bling-bling pop albums, on par with "Nellyville" and "Get Rich Or Die Tryin" in musical terms (not vocal). This means pretty much every song was a pop song - it was just a matter of which one would sell the best. On the Marshall Mathers LP for example, Criminal would never work as a single, it is a lyrical song. On "Get Rich Or Die Tryin" 90% of the songs could sell like crazy, because every song was made on the basis of "what will sell" rather than "what is the best". Nastradamus and I Am are by no means THAT BAD but they do fall into the same category.

6. I am NOT hating on Nas. He is my favourite rapper, and Illmatic is my favourite album. I also like Stillmatic, God's Son, and The Lost Tapes. It Was Written is above average.

7. Dez, I don't care if you talk bad about Eminem. He is average and boring these days, I couldn't care less. But he had great lyrics back in the day, but you seem to think that he's is forever gay because he is making money from a few pop singles each album. Your the one who brings him up most of the time with your "anti-Eminem" bullshit.

Word Bond 12-16-03 10:13 AM

naw dude really you should just leave rap alone

and hop off eminem's dick while you at it

YJ 12-17-03 09:01 PM

Eminem is iight I think he's overrated
Nas is Like is tight tho I aint gonna fake

Oh...God..You seem to lose brainmass each time you post.
Criminal on the Marshall Mathers L.P is not a lyrical song. Everything n that album was made for shock value. Nastradamus does not belong with 50 cent's release or nelly's release. That is dumb...
Oh and N.Y State of mind pt. 2 and Nas is Like are way more lyrical than anything on the Marshall Mathers album. And I find it funny, that like a week ago, you were hopping on em's nuts, and now he's boring. We influence the children, Dez.

monk murda 12-17-03 11:26 PM

LOOK DOG WORDZ OF WISDOM......THE I AM ALBUM WAS BETTER THEN THE NASTRADAMAS ...BUT THE NASTRADAMAS WASNT THAT WEAK NAS HAD SOME SHIT ON THERE....SEE NAS IS MAD TALANTED..HE DIFFERNT HE AINT ALWAYS TALKIN BOUT GUNS BITHCHES AN ICE .. NAW MEAN....HE ALREADY DID THAT.....ITS NEVER BACKWARDS IM MOVING IM ALWAYS FORWARD...NAS ... SO IT MIGHT SOUND CORNEY CAUSE IT AINT WHAT U WANNA HEAR....BUT NAS IS ALWAYS SAYIN SOME SHIT..FEEL ME....

wogzta 12-17-03 11:50 PM

Actually, criminal WAS a lyrical song. In terms of rhyming and emotion, it was. And it had a non-pop beat and no catchy sing-song chorus. Just cos it was different, doesnt mean it wasnt lyrical. I am NOT on eminems dick. I dont even listen to him these days. I also consider nas my favourite rapper, therefore i cannot be dickriding eminem. And i did mention Nas Is Like was a great song. That doesnt make an album a classic. Thats just like saying because of a pretty good song called "many men" on 50 cents album, then 50 cents album is a classic cos of that one good song, even if the rest is garbage. And you forget that NY state of mind was from illmatic, Nas best days, and the second version featured Rakim. Nas also went back to his old style in 2001-2003, which explains why it was a lyrical song. I Am and Nastradamus are from 1999, when his music was sub-par.

Accelerate 12-18-03 08:22 PM

The second version was on I am...it did not feature Rakim..Buddy, You might want to check up on that again. Criminal was Shock Value as I reiterate. Shock value does not need catchy beats or sing song hooks. Example: Kill You. Would that have been a hit? No. Is it lyrical? No. Same with Criminal.

DEL the funkee 12-18-03 08:42 PM

alright whatever

I like both of these albums, Nastradamus was nothing special at all...

I am is different on the other hand, Dope tracks: Undying Love, Nas Is Like, New York State Of Mind pt.2, Dr.Knockboot

Da NFamous 12-18-03 10:03 PM

^oops, i agree Nastradamus affected me more but I Am is plainly better, 1luv.

wogzta 12-18-03 11:33 PM

I didnt know NY State Of Mind part 2 was on it... i was thinking of streets of new york, since it used the same beat as NY state of mind.. you got me there... but still, 2 songs do not make a classic

And Kill You was a moderately successful single. Not because of shock value. Do you forget the catchy chorus?

"You dont.... wanna fuck with shady! Why?
Cos shady... will fucking kill you!!"

when he says that, it can easily be swallowed by pop-fans since its sing song. Criminals chorus is:

"Cos everytime i write a rhyme these people thinks its a crime
To tell them whats on my mind...."

He just says that, no sing song, nothing. In addition, Criminals beat is a loop with soft pianos, while Kill You is a fast paced classical piano sample with Dres G-Funk. That means kill you's beat is more suited for a pop fan.

And it is lyrical. Throughout criminal, eminem strings 3-4 syllable multis together, with pure emotional anger, although it is comical. Just because you dont like his style doesnt mean hes crap. Eminem rapped about what he wanted to do and what he was thinking... shit its better than rapping about your ice and jewels and how many benz' u got

wogzta 12-18-03 11:35 PM

shit its better than rapping about your ice and jewels and how many benz' u got

and thats what precisely most of nas' songs were about on Nastradamus and I Am... note: I SAID MOST, SO DONT GIVE ME FLACK ABOUT "Nas is Like" and "If i ruled the world"

Word Bond 12-19-03 12:02 AM

man..... i just want to backhand you and learns you in "hip hop 101"

wogzta 12-19-03 12:20 AM

^ isnt it funny how you know i sonned you but u cant think of a reply so you threaten to slap me.... well go on then, give me hip hop 101... if you even know it yourself

Word Bond 12-19-03 01:02 AM

i don't need to say anything almost everyone in this thread sonned you, your just talkin for the hell of it now

wogzta 12-19-03 04:44 AM

^ yeah.. thats EXACTLY what im doing... im wasting my time here posting SIMPLY to annoy YOU... yeah....

and no one in this thread sonned me. SkiddZ corrected something i said, which i admitted i was wrong about, and you said you were going to slap me. But thats about it.

CALYPSO 12-19-03 05:13 AM

i think i like the i am better, cause i wasn't feeling nastradamus that much.
