Broken Microphone


After fifteen years he suddenly appeared on the big stage
Soothing my fears, kissing salty tears, easing the rage
That had built up inside my being without me foreseeing
Yeh, I felt like fleeing but then his presence got so freeing
He became a real close friend but let's not play pretend
That's not how these kind of stories end, they transcend
Friend into lover, hearing "place no one else above her"
So surprised to see that he didn't lie to me undercover
Butterflies kept on fluttering inside, in him I can confide
With pride I walk beside him for he is known worldwide
His strong physique made me transform into true freak
But it is his voicing technique that got my knees weak
‘Till I was forbidden to speak for he was no longer there
Questioning if it’s an affair, I’m lost in sense of despair
Trapped in box with no way out…him I can’t do without
Used to shout out loud, now silence has brought about
Seeking a lonesome light but all I perceive is dim dark
Anxiously await some satiric spark to abruptly embark
No matter how hard I yell, no one understands me well
Locked up inside a giant shell which will be my farewell
Words choke in my throat as my ideas remain to float
And every single thing I once wrote changes into quote
Clouds thicken; grief-stricken I view it as a tricky token
My being fades unspoken for my microphone is broken
