Yes, you read that last part right. i’ll let it sink in for a second.

So its 2007, one state is drafting formal legislation to apologize for slavery, and another is trying to flex its ‘dont mess with texas’ ego. While i complained earlier of how dismayed i was that some black blogs tend to be angry, this type of reality justifies that sentiment, and rightfully so. While i’ve never been the most articulate when it comes to expressing the complete shock of ‘in plain view’ racism, I can honestly say that this type of white arrogance and hate needs to be called out and handled swiftly. But how? the article mentions that naacp is on the case (rolling eyes), but i feel like more, MUCH MORE needs to be done.

If you get to the end of the article, the turmoil suffered by shaquanda in juvenile prison, where 95% of the offenders are repeat and violent (read: real crimes), has caused her to attempt suicide on her life 3 times. 3 times! A 14-year old, my little sister, is trying to kill herself because a racist bigot of a judge put her in prison for shoving someone. SHOVING!

So what can be done? link to this article. publicize this story. Let’s see what blogging black can really do. Go to the governor’s page at http://www.governor.state.tx.us/contact and let him know how you feel and how this is completely bullshit.

There's no proof for most of that shit. Like, the dude who supposedly got probabtion for killing people. There's no link or any of that, even though it's public record and if it was true it could easily be found online. I don't know anybody who'll say that racism is nonexistant though, so I don't really know what point you're trying to make. Those points are bullshit without evidence, and the story could very well be biased on a "Young Black Professional Guide" anyway. Regardless, nobody has said racism is dead so thanks for the useless article.

just showing the depth at which it still exists
personally, I'd believe something like this happened before I was born
but it's FUCKing 2007...there is 0 cause for things like this to happen

and just cuz there's no links to the other situations doesn't mean they don't exist
if you know where to look you may or may not find information on those stories
but things like that won't exactly make headlines in a town like that

OK.....I was in a predominately mixed school, but the majority was definitely not white. I was in the principal's office daily....honestly. Part of my punishment for smoking in the bathroom was to check in with the dean three times a day. There was a dude who got caught smoking crack in the bathroom who got off less than me, and guess what his skin color was............yup :thumbup:

reverse racism works the same way.......which is the biggest oxymoron. Wouldn't reverse racism be the opposite or racism?

But yeah.....racism isn't always some crazy crackers trying to make a point.....

What I said was the truth though. Who has said that racism is dead? Everybody knows that it's not, and that article was saying shit without anything to back it up. I don't understand how that's on some Republican shit.
