Blay'all 08-13-06 10:01 PM

so this is your new thing now? lol

its an industry, just like any other industry the goal is to make money.

La Cosa Nostra 08-13-06 10:36 PM

Hip hop isnt an industry blay..

Get real..

And yo, theres nothing wrong with hip hop.. The rap industry on the other hand is way too much of a commodity like everything else in the world these days though..

The cats running the industry dont see music as an art, they just churn out songs to please the mindless masses and rake in a lot of cash..

Not that thats wrong..............Its just shit for the artists who actually want to put out something real..

........Not to mention cats are running out of origional concepts these days............

Blay your a mainstream wannabe.

The mainstream era was cute, but its fading quick! Rap is to make money, hip hop music is the voice of today.

Pitty some cant Focus properly:)

okay, both of you please read my post. nowhere did i say hip-hop is an industry, or hip-hop is all about money. this thread is specifically talking about mainstream rap and artists like Yung Joc, as he stated, which IS an industry about money. stop over-analyzing shit.

C@P@CiTy 08-14-06 09:58 AM

this year it's basically all about style and jewelry and how many cars u can shop for and not even mainly focused on lyrics.......they need to start steepin there lyrics up and paying attention to wut there sayin in songs most of the time nah meen all that and begin to put out good concepts.........

Abraxas 08-14-06 01:57 PM

I'm not bothered really...
Theres a certain time I listen of kinds of rap.
You can't just stick to plain harcore lyrical rap.
I mean you can't get any ass from that in a club.
You need to have club bangers like "It's Going Down" Or some shitty snap music
Sure its wackbut you'd get bored listening to the same kind of rap style.
Just IMO

I think hip hop is too forgiving these days. It's more and more rare it seems that some one will put something out and people will rip it apart. Besides that, the hip hop culture and the rap industry are two very seperate things and there are only a few people who can represent both well. Most people living the hip hop culture are legit and doing there thing while a lot of people in the rap industry are trying to use the hip hop culture to gain cash flow and a lot of times put out weak shit. But you gotta just seperate whats tough from whats not and just keep your ears open for something hot.

Blay'all 08-14-06 02:00 PM

i swear, you people cant read....

PT supposedly showed my "stupidity" when both of you were too fucking stupid to realize that if you read the very next sentence i addressed exactly how you're saying i "contradicted" myself... i swear, its not even worth arguing with people on RV anymore.

Young Kidd (LM) 08-14-06 04:34 PM

personally..

i wish i had a dollar for everytime this thread was made.. or is gonna be.
