is it time to turn rap around?

Another one gone.

Is it time we all attempted to make a change in rap for good.!!

Ridding of the glamorized gun play, gangbanging and all that shit that kids will be growing up hearing and thinking its cool to do?!!

When will it stop?!!!!

~Babylon~ 04-11-06 04:03 PM

yea man.................me and you shouldnt beef either............lets have our battle...and let that be the end of it..........werd :thumbup:

Ysdat 04-11-06 04:06 PM

man internet beef is simply fun to me, theres nothing personaly involved.

But rap needs a change for good!

Indeph 04-11-06 04:19 PM

For rap to change the main base has to change. The ghetto enviornment needs to change. People are gonna talk about how shit is and its not a pretty happy violent free area. If you want rap to stop having beef, get ppl to stop beefing so much. Want ppl to stop talking abou guns? Get the guns out our neighborhoods. If you dont do that then watch it get even worse.

Ysdat 04-11-06 04:19 PM

why the fuck not? If there was no 50 talking about his daily gun play, if there was no glamorised gangbanging, it wouldnt be as instense.
Of course it will still naturally happen, but if the mainstream simply tried reaching the younger generation and explain how wrong it is.
Then they will grow to be wise on the issue and not be trigger happy like the 25-30 year olds, who grew up ahead of our generation.

if this generation we are growing up in,makes plans to reach the generation after us then it will slowly be a reaccuring effect.
or...
we could niot give a fuck and let peopel glamorize killing someone and watch this continue to happen year after year.

dotn act like i gotta get rid of the guns, thats the impossible. But what WE can do as a hip hop generation is teach the next generation coming up.

The ones ahead of us, they are out of our hands, But the ones after us are in our hands.

Indeph 04-11-06 04:25 PM

Nothing is impossible. And you're right this generation can help the next, but it'll take an ALLOVER effort. If only like 2 rappers do it than they'll simply go to the rappers who are talking about it. I'm pretty sure dipset isnt gonna NOT do it anymore.

Ysdat 04-11-06 04:29 PM

fuck'a dipset.

Do you even beleive in yourself bro? YOU can make it to help the change, by the time someone our age is in the spotlight, dipset are not going to be heard of.

The next generation of rap is us. Do you not see that, why cant we learn off the generation before us and see there huge mistake they made with rap, and turn it around.

Im not saying rap about flowers and porch monkeys. But we can speak on real shit.
I know, speaking about what you see is natural, but look at tupac, he rapped about what he saw in hopes to change it, which to me is fucked up,cause he ended up some what glamorising it all.

All im saying, is the general content in rap has to change, before we are the ones passing on to the next generation that gunplay and gangbanging is cool.

its not just rappers

look at arnold schewzner (or however u spell his name)
and silvester stalone they glamorize gunplay and its worse cause they do it visualy rappers do it with words
man sex and violence in rap music will allways be here
unless there is a different theme
u say some real shit but ( your real shit )is no theme

Ysdat 04-11-06 04:40 PM

wtf @ no theme.
wtf @ arnold swartzanager
WTF @ YOU!!

do kids idolise arnold? no
do kids idolise 50 cent and think hes cool and shit? yes.

Rap fuels these movies. By creating a fanbase that likes guns gangs killing and murder. it creates reason for movie producers to take hold of the hip hop fanbase and make movies relating to the shit.

Sylvetor stylone??

when was the last time you heard a kid say "stalones dope, he doesnt give a fuck hell kill anyone"
Plus its a movie most people know its fake.

when was the last time you heard a young kid say " 50's dope, he doesnt give a fuck he'll kill anyone"?
being a rapper,they instantly think what he says he does, he does.

Theme= gimick.
Gimick= minstream
mainstream= wack.

feel?

Bro...that's not the same thing...Arnold's gun play is so over the top, it's cartoonish. But, talking about "stickin someone to eat" is very real to alotta people bro. I doubt someone in the hood sees Terminator then goes out to blow up a big rig.

It's time for rap to turn around yes...

But it's gotta be an all around effort like you said.

You gotta plan tho?
