lol boo @ autotune son.

hit me up with the RAW cut

no.... using auto tunes isn't singing at all bro. Don't ever call it singing.

I have a mom and sister who both sang proffesionally and that shit is not singing.....

It's an art, it's like using your mouth as an instrument. There are notes and keys you need to say with and hit, you can't just go on auto-tunes and pretend you are a singer -_-

I'm assuming these are reference tracks and not actual songs, correct?

I agree entirely with the notion that auto-tune is not singing, however, there's a big difference between using it for demo purposes, and using it in a track you intend to have on the radio.

Auto-tune is an incredible tool for reference tracks. When it comes down to it, you really don't want a singer referencing the song and hitting all the wrong notes, because then the eventual artist won't know what to do with it, THAT'S why auto-tune SHOULD be used. And that's primarily how it was used, until it blew into mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop in roughly 2005.

Anyways, my point is, auto-tune is a great tool depending on your intended use. Can it turn someone who can't sing into a singer? No, but it CAN be extremely useful when used appropriately.

didnt listen but if its auto tune its wack

Young Kidd (LM) 01-10-10 10:33 AM

i'm pretty sure everyone but LT didn't even read the post lol just listened.

the Auto Tune is there for reference Notes/Keys/Way its supposed to sound.

I really don't intend to release the tracks under my name
its for the singers.

Young Kidd (LM) 01-10-10 10:34 AM

BTW i can sing certain notes/keys
but these are particularly hard for me because i don't have that type of range.

so JTR i understand seeing it as an art.

but alot of singers now-a-days see it as a tool of their art.

on tracks i want to release under my name, I use it sometimes but not like i do on reference tracks.

thats bout it.

JTR 01-10-10 04:22 PM

take a couple singing lessons leave auto tunes alone and then trust me you'll be ripping tracks up cuz you got a good voice

Dabatos 01-10-10 08:22 PM

me...me...me..me

Young Kidd (LM) 01-10-10 11:02 PM

lol thats what i'm gettin ready to do. voice/piano lessons, gotta get my paycheck.

but the autotune is mostly for backs or demos (which is what it was used for mostly before T-Pain)

an when you use it for actual songs you do it adjusted to key, blah blah blah, so it doesn't make it robotic sounding.

I'm not going to hate on auto tune because fruit cake satanic hypocrite biter Jay Z says Death of Auto Tune, that nigga needs to go sit back on his rocking chair, but I am against people not using it right, such lil wayne and 99.5 percent of online rappers and singers.
