"my catchy title"
when it begins
you've got to grab their attention; an overdose of alliteration can alleviate alientation but a clever pun often leaves a smile on the reader's face afterwords start a new stanza; this gives the reader something to look for in terms of a theme that connects the entire poem line breaks are also great in dictating cadence and can be used to set up beautiful multi-entendres when an enjamb- ment something completely different than what the reader expected. smilies are as attractive to the eye as Jessica Alba... nude... sun tanning on a beach in the Phillipines... during the rainy season. these elements are the gears that work together and gauge the minds of your readers as they search for deeper meaning- oh! that's right; I forgot about metaphor but regardless of how you choose to construct your free verse poetry, remember that the most important thing is that you have a catchy title. |
