Should I go with the 30gb video ipod or the zune?

discuss the differences here.. lol
also do you NEED to buy songs from the zune marketplace, or can i just download music like i do with my ipod(im switching cause i cant fit nearly enough music in the one i got)

Microsoft's Zune project was a complete failure, and is only being kept alive because microsoft has the resources to keep it afloat.

Get the video Ipod, apple know what they are doing with that shit. They've made all the mistakes already, and optimized their product accordingly. You will be hard pressed to find better (niche) technology in America than is offered by Apple.

It all depends on what you're looking for. The battery life for the Zune is much better then the iPods. I have them both. I prefer listening to the Zune when i'm going on trips and my iPod when i'm riding the bus or somethin. If you want all out easiness get a iPod. For most people the set-up for the zune is annoying and hassling. With iPod you just download iTunes, put your songs on there and then there you go.

Zune = Better battery life
iPod = easier and the organization is better.

Zunes are like the second cousin of the iPod that everyone has seen, and iPod needs to hang out with because Zune isn't good at making friends, so he just tags along.

Zune has better video quality and a larger screen than the iPod. However, the Zune becomes increasingly annoying when downloading and syncing music. When you download music from the Zune site, you dont purchase it, you only "rent" it in a sense. You pay a monthly bill, and if your bill isnt payed, the music expires. Coming from an owner of a Zune and iPod, I would stick with the video iPod.
