What the hell is ProTools???
 

I probly sound dumb askin this but I have no idea . . .


I always hear ProTools this, ProTools that . . .


From what I have heard it is a dream machine, you can make beats on it, record on it, mix with it, master with it, and more. It does not make sense to me that it can do all that. Especially make beats . . . someone please tell me what it is and what the hell it really does . . .

Its just a multi track recording program. It comes with, and can only be used with, all digiDesign products (mbox, digi001, digi002, and all their controll surfaces)

Its nothing special if you dont have the hardware to go with it..

If you do...and have the right plug-ins...

yo ^^ i was wondering...

It seems to me that the two bomb professional recording systems out there are Digidesign shit and Steinberg. I personally use cubase SX and i seem to like it, MIDI, VST, mastering, Mixing, CHopping and sampling and the great Halion. However i've been looking around and Pro Tools seems to be on such a higher level because of pricing and what not. SO pretty much how does Steinberg products specifically Cubase compare to Pro Tools??

its just been the industry standard fo so long, but other products are just as good. It's all about plugins tho. without good plugins Protools is as useless as any other program.

yeah...its about being able to take a session and bring it to a studio....

so therefore you'd need the same program that the studio had...and most are using pro-tools

that sums up the power of pro tools.

other than that its just as good as any other program...


cubase SX is a good program as well...

^^ So you can;t use VST plug-ins like the Wave Bundle and shit with ProTools?......

Protools is completely the shit with the hardware... without it its gay...


Cubase is good either way...
