ok... I have a... (knows somebody's gonna laugh so...) I have a soundblaster Audigy plat 2... n' a N/D 967 mic... (hot stage mic...)


I need a new soundcard of course... to much gain on this one... vocals don't sound clear... suggestions..?


I'm gonna get a new mic of course... suggestions..? I'm think the akg6000 I think it is... it's gold... take a 8 volt if you don't have phantom power...


n' what kind of pre amp would be good..?

A good idea here would be to knock out the souncard and the pre-amp in one. Omni studio from what I've heard is exellent. Includes a Delta 66 soundcard(Great for recording) That'd be round $300

As far as the mic goes There is no akg6000. How much are you going to have left over after the omni?

Back to the the soundcard, you could get a great deal on a Delta 44/66 on ebay. Let's say you get a good deal at $100. Spend $160 on a Blue Tube Presonus Preamp and you'll still get good quality and have an extra $40.

I use a Shure SM Beta58a...Shit is quite iLL...I got it on the cheap on Ebay...<<<The place to shop for Real!..Its a Dynamic Mic so i don't need a pre-amp...As far as a Soundcard goes..I've got no idea mun..But please someone who DOES know..Post it up so I can know what to buy!..Pz..

is the AKGC9000 really that good a mic?

I helped him on aim so hes fine. Orikle, for a soundcard you need to to get with 24-bit/96khz no-latency. So I'd suggest an Audigy Platinum 2 Soundblaster or a delta 44/66
the deltas can be bought with a pre-amp your gonna go the condenser route. For quality of the omni with proper mixing, see alkatraks page. For quality and proper mixing on an audigy, see opeys page. That should be what you need to know soundcard wise.

As far as that mic goes, I've never heard of it.

If you wanna by the pre-amp and delta together it's called an omni studio
