An Inconvenient Truth

I just saw most of this movie tonight. And, I must say, I'm inspired to take up the cause. I've always known about global warming. But, watching this movie in combination with reading CNN's latest article on global warming was very sobering.

Al Gore should be commended.

This is amazing.

Anyone else seen this movie?

One thing Gore said that should resonate with everyone, "It is a misconception that scientists disagree about the existence and occurrence of global warming." (paraphrase)

yea well...sensationalism aside, it is a REAL phenomenon. The evidence is there that humans are causing this to progress, or deteriorate depending on how u view it. So, people can choose to live in denial. The accountability will come sooner than we think. Im talking in our lifetime. There's a real possibility that life as we know it will change forever. I mean, this is unrelated, but, even FISH are in danger of being extinct because of various factors that have a human cause. In the next 50 years, if nothing is done, this conversation will be redundant.

PS. That's not true that "many scientists" believe otherwise...That's part of the LIE special interests want us to believe. Why? DOLLARS BABY.

Richard Lidnzen Professor of Meteorology at MIT who is also a member of the National Academy of science. He has been a critic of some anthropogenic global warming theories and the political pressures surrounding climate scientists. I read a paper he wrote which basically dissproved many of the so called facts from the IPCC and the movie inconvienient truth

GKillaz05 03-12-07 01:48 AM

I seen this, and first off he talks about himself way to much to be commended. I also dont belive a word that he is sayin', I'm learnin' about this shit in school right now and when im doing my gay little global warming project i seriously think its a complete waste of time because they are teaching me something thats not even fuckin' true!!!!!!

oh, I also seen that tha q in alot of threads about god, and sayin' he down wit' that or whatever even though he homo, well god would most def. say that global warming is bs tha q!

New Meth0d 03-12-07 07:18 AM

word im not saying that global warming doesn't exist, but it doesnt effect us to the extent the inconvinient truth wanted us to think. it affects us something of about 10% with the other 90% happening naturally, we have global cycles i.e. first ice age second ice age ect. but even to reverse that 10% of global warming to reduce GHG emmisons to 0 would but our country's economy in the shitter. what ever may come in the future like an ice age, or extreme heat (and im talking hundreds of years in the future) we will adapt.

if you are worried about this you should be worried that the world might end tommorow due to a mere solar flair annhilating the earth like it was nothing, a pandemic, or a super volcano no joke we are over due for a major erruption. these things could happen tommorow. and also why spend a majority of our time and money on lowering GHS emmisons when we could help our people now with hunger and aids.

Mad Dog 03-12-07 08:36 AM

The world was a big flaming ball of rock, molten lava and seas of lava...then it cooled down...life began...then we were hit by a massive meteor that wiped out 99% of all living species...then we lived in the dark for many many years...then it was the ice age...then the earth warmed up...

we didn't start off the way we are...what you gotta remember is that the Earth will NEVER maintain a constistant temperature...climate change on Earth has been happening since the Dawn of time...it's just happening again...species LONG before humans came along died out because of climate change and im pretty sure there were no Ford Escorts emitting additional CO2 into he atmosphere...

or maybe the big ol hole in the ocean floor could have something to do with global warming too....

GKillaz05 03-13-07 09:49 AM

LMAO riiiiiight, and yo.. i heard that even if we cut back like they want us too... it will still take (im not sure the exact amount of years) but we have already put so much ghg up there that it will take around 30years to clean up if we dont use anymore from right now! So if its true we are fucked either way.. lol

pen pusher 03-13-07 12:31 PM

I've seen it

Had to write a paper on it too -_-
