Apexx!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :(

man I got that Male-female shit, but I still got a few problems...

1. I plug my headphones into the M-Audio fasttrack right? But like so then when i play a beat on cool-edit, then won't the mic record that too? and if I have to mute it, how can I hear the beat? Cuz the beat don't come thru headphones, it comes out of the speakers.

2. when I actually record, like I tested it out to see. It catches my sound, but only the TOP part of the track records the wave.

like you know when you record the "track" has like two levels. a top and bottom, which I think shows the Left and RIGHT sides. When I record, only the top one records something.

damn, the problems just keep comin' yo. God must want me to stop rappin :(

see that bolded part? Remember when I was like "Spul, what ever you do, don't monitor through the fast track, monitor through the computer because blah blah blah blah"? now you see why. put them headphones back to the computer and viola - problem solved.

Set your recording input from stereo to mono 1 or mono 2, which ever one turns out to give soudn in both ears. viola, problem solved.

man, but shouldn't my vocals come thru my headphones tho? Like what I say in mic? Like when you record don't you hear yourself thru headphones? Because when I put it in computer it don't come thru. I try again tommorow.

usually there's an option to turn monitoring ON or OFF for your vocal track. You gotta make sure that's ON in order to hear your self spit. If it's ON and you still don't hear your self, check your mic input vol and your Mix vol on the fast track, they may need to be turned up.

and word to everything else

lmao my bad, foo. this the last time I promise.

ok, so I'm back after 2 hours or so up fuckin' around with the shit...

aiight about that monitoring thing tho, I searched like all thru the program, and then all thru my computer to try and find it, but no luck. :(

also, I couldn't find anything for recording input. The CLOSEST thing to it I found was ON the fast track where you can click it for stero or mono. I tried both of those to no avail.

but now something even more messed up started happening. I play a song or beat WITHOUT the usb for fast track hooked in. works perfectly fine. Then i plug in USB, and I try to play the song on windows media player, realplayer, even IN cool edit. and no sound comes at all. But then I remove USB, and it works perfectly fine again.

man i don't even know, shit seems to keep getting worse and worse everything I fuck with it. I'm pretty close to thinkin' that it could be the laptop I bought is fuckin' wack, and is reason for all this. Wasted fuckin' $2,000 on it. goddamn....

but uhh also, if you need any screenshots, or photos of my set-up, w/e you need to make it easier for you to see what's happening, just lemme know. peace

J. Luth 10-05-06 02:12 PM

^scratch that about uhh the songs not playing when USB in. I fucked with it for awhile and now it works...

only shit now is just this:

∆ P E X X 10-05-06 02:50 PM

did you fuck with the stereo to mono settings?

J. Luth 10-05-06 02:59 PM

^yea, man, didn't do anything. I did it in the "settings" section of options on cool edit. But I did notice something like I right clicked on "Track 1" put track properties, like they have 3 different opitions like "Left, right, and Stero" no mono.

J. Luth 10-05-06 03:04 PM

^ususally the record will say M-Audio Fast Track, but I disconnected it for now, so it's the other thing

∆ P E X X 10-05-06 04:21 PM

^^i have no idea wtf you said there.

but try left (which is mono) or right (which is mono).

and why are you disconnecting shit??? that's taking steps backwards man leave that shit all together

J. Luth 10-05-06 05:21 PM

^I didn't mean disconnect as in UNINSTALL. lol I just took the USB out. That shouldn't harm it at all. Cuz when it's plugged in, it's on. So why keep it on if I'm not recording?

but I tried left and right, shit ain't work but fuck w/e. I'll figure something out. Thanks for the help tho. pc

∆ P E X X 10-05-06 05:38 PM

^so what if it's on lmao, who cares? my shit's always on whenever my computer's on, and my phantom's on 24/7.

so what's your problem now? what does your shit sound like cuz i don't see what the prob is now.

J. Luth 10-05-06 05:47 PM

^lol aiight i just didn't want it to overheat and shit, but the only problem I got now is from that picture. How it records like that. Only on one side. I'll just try messin' with other shit till it works.

but word, so it don't matter if I just let it stay plugged in continually? word...

∆ P E X X 10-05-06 05:50 PM

yeah that's great, but how does it SOUND?

and no, there aint shit wrong with leaving it on, my shit's on every single day.

i'll miss it in the week that I'm not home :(

J. Luth 10-05-06 05:56 PM

^ lmao it's only a week tho yo.

but uhh, as far as it sounds? lol when I play it back, shit only plays to the LEFT side. like on my headphones, only the left ear plug get the sound :(
