Could Have Been
 

She was alone on the floor
Just crying in tears
She didn't know what had happened
What brought about her worst fears

It was over before it started
He had caught her cheating
She had no idea what was to come
Of the emotional beating

He was heart broken
She had betrayed him so
He thought they were happy
But that was so very long ago

She couldn't live with herself
She was so very ashamed
She knew he had the right
For she was the one he blamed

They were together for so long
But right infront of her was the end
She couldn't lie to him anymore
She just couldn't pretend

The truth was out
The relationship was over
It destroyed his life and her's
You rarely found her sober

She couldn't take the nasty rumors
Got tired of all the lies
Tried so many unsuccessful times
Tried so very hard to die

Finally when the day came about
She ended her life full of pain
She had made the biggest mistake
For his love for her still did remain

He had the heart to forgive her
But she never gave him a chance
She felt she didn't deserve it
Because of her unfaithful romance

She thought of herself as a horrible person
But it went just a little too far
After it ended it was like he wasn't alive
She was his shooting star

Well it was over then
Since she ended her painful life
He couldn't live with himself
So he picked up the knife..........
