only thing in your set up i can speak on is your pop filter. sounds like the same one i got the Groove Tubes PF-1

Too bad you don't got the mic in that sig. i could tell ya lots about that :D

[.:D:.] 10-30-06 04:15 AM

mine looks like that tho..its just black..=\

well the one in your sig is a GT55 tube, i got the same mic, a GT-55 FET. I never heard of the one you got though a sterling ST55

I will say this man, everything i looked up from "Sterling" looks identical to the same-named products by Groove Tubes. Like Groove Tubes has a metal pop filter the PF1, and Sterling has a metal pop filter that looks identical called the STPF-1. Seems liek everywhre Groove Tubs uses GT, Sterling uses ST.

That ST55 looks identical to my GT55 too. same roll off switch, same markings on the body, everything. evn the same description AND list price! AND it's FET?? yeah, you got the same mic son.

which is ill, and i really don't needto say much more about it than that. if you wanna hear how ill for your self, check my sig, listen to a mixed down track like Black Sunglasses.

what wires you got?

[.:D:.] 10-31-06 06:03 AM

lol yea..i was sayin..Sterling is basically GT..cause i got the fuckin ST55 FET..lol..but i got Mogami cables....

and is it betta to use the rool off switch or nah? cause nah mean..the mic sounds good but i get some static from the mixer..i can easily take that out tho..but yea..rool off or not? and wtf does that really do...?

∆ P E X X 10-31-06 02:11 PM

nice cables. i use the roll off switch just cuz its easier for me to do mixes, but you'll get the most texture outta your voice (the super lows particularly) with the roll off switch off. if you set your mic volume right you won't have to worry about it though. i use my 10dB pad too, but much like the roll off, if i want that pure texture, i'll turn it off and spend more time on the mixdown and compression.

and if you get static, def look into that physically, don't try to mix that away, cuz the shit should be pin-drop quiet. you might be hearing straight up monitoring noise which is just... everything around you, you know?

oh, the roll off cuts out any sounds in the extreme low endsof the frequency range, like any rumbles or mic handling noise, it'll cut the sound of any loud computers running near by, electrical shit, etc. you know, low frequency rumbles and noises. the dB pad just turns down your vol 10dB's which you may want to use in a rap environment.

yea i was thinkin that..i think im getin some type of shit from my mixer..i might try to hook it up through this pre amp i got to see if the static is still there..but its prolly from my soundcard and my actual hook up to the computer or whatever so i dunnno..

^^all the reasons you mentioned above is exactly why i fucks with an interface b

[.:D:.] 11-02-06 11:03 AM

i aint trippin tho..cause i noise reduce and for some reason..it actually works..o_O..never really worked too good before..but..yea our shit is pretty clear..we recorded 3 songs for our album and shit..and they sound good..
