damn, beat me to making the thread, eh.

peeped this shit last night and it fucking takes a steaming dump over every science fiction movie ever made. aside from the fact that in 3D it is exceptionally awesome... the story is strong enough and the world of pandora is amazing. although, when i saw the aircraft that the soldiers fly i cudn't help but think of the hornets and pelicans from halo, but still.... the massive forest world of pandora is beautiful just to see and the creatures that inhabit the world are even more spectacular.

the na'vi race is great, everything from their language, to their appearance and the emotions they show, along with the whole bonding process they have with all the creatures and the forest and everything really.. it just makes them such a strongly thought out and created race.

strongest performance i thought came from the woman who played the main female na'vi who jake sully's character falls in love with. i also would've liked to have seen that Tsu'tey dude get more scenes because he seemed like he could've been a really interesting character to follow.

michelle rodriguez was her typical soldier hard ass character. sigourney weaver was great as the scientist type. sam worthington was a lot better when playing the avatar role than he was playing his human part. whoever that dude is who played the colonel was dope.. typical bad ass and he was fucking built like a motherfucker.

and ROFL @ that dude from gone in 60 seconds (nicolas cage's characters younger bro) and the scrawny geek dude from hatchet being in the movie to. lol.

overall man, this is a must see movie for anyone who like science fiction movies and pretty much anyone that appreciates a fucking EPIC! take a cushion though... coz 3 hours in the fucking cinema made my ass go numb as fuck!

Wouldn't be the first time something long had that effect in the life of Nick Fletcher

King Solo 12-20-09 03:49 PM

ROFL! That was so clever, I almost had to pinch myself when I realised who posted it.

When I saw the trailers for Avatar, it looked like it was going to be this decade's Waterworld. A few people said it was pretty good though. I might check it out.

Ltizzle 12-20-09 06:06 PM

I'm really looking forward to seeing this. I've been intrigued by the 3D since this is supposedly the first movie to actually do it right.

For those who've seen it, how does it compare to District 9?
They seem to be quite different from one another, but definitely share some similarities being science fiction and all, any comparisons?

Dabatos 12-20-09 06:19 PM

wow... this movie is just amazing... just wow...

It all depends on what you're looking for. If you want that sci-fi epic then Avatar is the way to go. But, if you're looking for that sci-fi flick with a deeper meaning then District 9 is the movie to see.

_Talksic_ 12-21-09 01:33 AM

district 9 sucks...

La Cosa Nostra 12-21-09 04:24 AM

man i was gonna bring up district 9 i bootlegged that shit and watched it last night and thought it was dope as fuck....

avatar the previews gave me the opinion that it was humans becomming the monster weve been fearing in these types of movies for so long, an agenda driven advanced space civilisation attacking an alien world for their own purposes.. i didnt think all that much of the previews...

district 9 is one of my faverite movies of this year no doubt but this one, who knows.. ill go see it when i have the time, the next movie im going to see is sherlock holmes....

King Solo 12-21-09 11:34 AM

sherlock holmes looks dope, but word on district 9... i've seen that movie 4 times already this year, lol
