What, you mean spider mounts like this: ![]() Or shock mounts like this: ![]() Nope. Makes no difference if it's a condenser or not, these work with anything. These are designed to isolate vibration from the boom arm to the mic. If you have no vibration, you won't need one, so no, condensers dont' speciically have any special shock mounts, or, to answer your question specifically, mic stands. If you ARE looking for a shock mount, I'd pesonally reccomend the same one I have since it works with virtually every thing and can suspend mics even upside down. The Sabra SSM-1 |
oh yeah, if you're looking for just a mic stand, just hit up a local radioshack. Buy which ever oen won't have you sitting down to record and most importantly - will hold the weight of your mic!!

I don't know why anyone would tell you that since a boom is no differnt than any other mic stand. They both do the exact same thing: support the mic. So why would you need a specific one to do a job that all of them do? Who ever told you you need this, especially because you have a condenser (like it matters) is misleading you. Like I said man, get the first mic stand that will have you not recording while sitting and will support th weight of the mic. As long as you can speak into the mic, it won't matter at all what type you get. |
