ProTools or Audition (CoolEdit)
I'm just wondering what everyone is using, I don't have a mac so garage is out, I've been using CEP2 for a little bit but if I can track down ProTools and its not to difficult to learn i'll make the switch just wondering what everyone is using and if you could provide info on your experience with each.
I just downloaded the Protools demo and I'm going to take it for a test spin. |
pro tools definitely produces higher quality output but ur gonna come to hate digidesign for using RTAS plugins when u see the price for them lol
|
beatsrhymeslife.net has the full version wit plug-ins for free download
.. but is protools a big deal, i just use cool edit and it works alright, would it make a big dif to get protools? |
yes it would...im assuming you can mix and whatnot right?
but in all honesty pro tools and all the plugins related to it are really steep pricewise....so thas another thing to take into account |
cool edits plugins is all free so u can't beat that.
|
only in terms of cost....cos pro tools plugins shit on a lot of the plugins available with cool edit when it comes to mixing
and the ones that are in the same league...well you better save up a nice lil penny for them lol |
i think its dumb to talk about spendin money on lil home production. peeps should just practive on a shitty mic till they got somethin worth droppin in a studio.
|
if you're doing music properly then take yourself seriously..on a real don't fall under that bullshit idea that if you don't have the premesis to build a studio that you can't have high end shit yourself, treat your studio setup with the same respect and pride that superstars treat theirs with
so if your funds allow, who can tell you you can't have this or that? and if you need to practice don't even bother with a mic when doing so cos practicing away from a mic will help you with your breathing and voice projection skills |

Dumbest shit I have ever heard. |
I used cool edit in the past, but I'm currently looking to see what other peeps use to do some collabos
|
new laptop old one crashed, anyone got a copy of cool edit they can send me?
|
|
cool edit is good if you broke personaly i use pro tools version 7 but dark is right you need to be external components for it just to run then the plug ins cost an assload
big picture had been here forever and is styl trash so avoid his advice if you serious and gon put in work and have money get pro tools but be prepared for a price difrence cool edit if your just playing round |

no it doesnt.none of these people know what the fuck theyare talking about...................... 1st off protools sucks unless your rich.the plug ins for protools all cost to add and they dont really do much.to get what you get in cool edit or adobe edition as it is now with protools you would have to spend around 5 grand easy maybe more.once you add the antares plug ins ect ect add ons you will need about 20 grand to bring protools up to date.that 20 grand will bring your adobe edition crazy quality with the right purchases. secondly medi sucks dick on protools.live bands fucking hate the program and so should any real artist who may want to incorparate live instruments in a beat for a track. lastly its overpriced in every way and cool edit is free as are the plug ins. the ONLY reason protools is so big is cuz it used to be the best.major studios have spent hundreds of thouasands.even millions of dollars to add on to protools.protools has mixing boards, adats etc ect that only work with protools and now the studios cant change because it will be too much of a lose...... as of now the best recording program is SONAR sometimes refered to as cakewalk but even then adobe has wave add on and plug in advantages.you got good equipment like mixing boards, adats, nice mic etc then get sonar it will make your quality shine.cheap mic or ok set up nothing beats cool edit..... as i said... |
