question

Would you rather live a happy lie or a sad reality?

Crazy Hades 04-09-07 07:45 PM

I wouldn't be saddened by the reality because I don't allow myself to get sad.

reminds me of the matrix

i guess it depends on the circumstances in each of them, like in the happy world do you KNOW its a lie, and in the sad world are you sad 24/7? shit like that

i think i'd probably live a happy lie, i remember tom hanks in "catch me if you can" saying its easier living the lie, but if you couldnt change reality to make you happy then i'd go with the happy lie, it really depends though on like what i said earlier if you know whats going on and if you can change anything

I'd rather hang out with Toby Flenderson.

you are closer to being fulfilled while living a happy lie because if you are happy with life you will be content...however if you realise said truth and can't find peace in it maybe it is not so good to know

hence the phrase "ignorance is bliss"

Logic The Goonie 04-11-07 11:28 AM

Well in theory, if you are living a lie without knowing it and live that particular life to the fullest, then there's no problem. But if I had to consciously make a decision, I'd rather live in a sad reality where my strength and will as a person will constantly be tested. Sure it's harder, but truth is God.

I'm one of those people who can easily manipulate their own feelings to work in their favor, so sad reality.

Terumoto 04-14-07 08:09 PM

^You aren't special or unique at all.

I never said it was a special or unique trait, I said I was someone who could do that.

Indeph 04-15-07 03:11 PM

Well skitzos usually have a detachment from external events and focus more on their feelings. Therefor no matter what they experience they can place their feelings to that event. It's a form of autism I think. It's not even a disorder imo its kinda like a state of mind. I'm not sure how much of the population is like that, but you're lucky u can control it. Most people go coo koo bananas like terumunto did in the summer of 88 and what happened to those children was tragic. Rofl @ you're not special or unique at all, overdose

No sweetie, it's a disorder, that's why some people view them as social disturbances. Schizophrenics also have hallucinations and delusions, and the way they detach themselves from external events isn't in a good way, they detach themselves and go into their own little world. I don't do that, it's not even controlling shit, it's just knowing how to manipulate your feelings so you don't end up all emo.

Indeph 04-15-07 03:27 PM

well I'm not talking about that, I was just saying it's apart of it. The term Schizophrenia covers alot of disorders. Just some cases are more extreme. Like the difference between being suspicious and having extreme paranoia.

Terumoto 04-15-07 08:52 PM

Yeah, sorry about that you aren't special or unique at all comment. If you already knew, that's cool.

It's just that people need to see that they aren't better than anyone else, and if they already think they are, even subconsciously, it's best to put an end to their delusions in the most blunt and direct way possible.
