Ut Oh! Al Gore told us so...

Wow...is all I can say right now...

We are living in unprecedented and perilous times...

Crude oil is up to 141 a barrel, which is a first in history. In short, that means gas prices will continue to sky-rocket. And, earlier estimates that gas prices would taper off have been replaced with projections of 7 dollars a gallon or higher by 2010. It is NOT going to improve unless something major and drastic is done.

On top of that, scientists have watched in dismay as the summer ice at the North Pole has retreated year by year due to warmer temperatures. The ice normally retreats some during the summer months, then re-freezes during the winter. However, many scientists now project that by this September, ALL, let me repeat, ALL of the North Pole's ice will melt due to Global Warming. This estimate was originally deemed to not be possible until the year 2050-2100. Surprise...And, if it doesn't happen this year, it will happen next year. The retreat of the polar ice has been the trend in recent years, leaving the Arctic passage open for the first time in recorded history.

The SUV era 1993-2004 is officially OVER. For the FIRST TIME in history, the frugal compact Honda Civic became the best-selling vehicle, not car, VEHICLE in America, replacing the venerable Ford F-150, selling over 50,000 units.

Ford, GM, and other major manufacturers of trucks and SUVs have stalled their plans to redesign their popular truck models--e.g., Hummer, F-150.

Warren Buffet predicts that America will hit deeper recession levels before this is all over. And, rationing is not out of the realm of possibility. Imagine being told not only WHAT you can purchase, but how much! Could that really happen? Hmm...

How I see it...we need to wake up and think about the strain we're putting on our natural resources. The days of boundless resources are OVER. Each of us has a moral duty to be concerned about our environmental footprint. And, unless something is done within the next 10 years, the future as we know it will be nebulous as best.

^^Not only that, but video footage of the collapsing ice shelves has been documented for years now.

Most scientists agree to the cause. There's only a small faction that doesn't. But, regardless of whether you agree to the cause of this melting, the fact remains that ice levels are continuing to diminish.

And, they will continue to do so.

Where does it say anywhere in that article that most scientists agree?

The scientist they asked all those questions even said "There's a 50-50 chance."

Q, if any scientists disagree it's because there is a reason that prevents them from doing so.

I find it hard to believe that you're saying that by next year, New York City, Miami, and Baltimore MD will be completely under water, because when only about half of the polar ice caps melt up there, that will happen. So uh, Where's the rising water?

Abandon ship. Oh and Kirk, move the hell away from the east side of the east coast, LOL

I just stocked up on flood pants, bro. I suggest you do the same. [/sarcasm]

North Pole ice free?

That is disastorous news.

The largest ice berg to disconnect from the polar ice caps was recorded recently.

It's the size of Jamaica.

There's a ice version of Jamaica floating around up north lol

Holy fuck you could see that shit from space.

Cool. I won't have to shovel snow this winter.
