Experience Vs Degree

Yes we all learned from the folkz to get a better high paying job you need a better education!! But nowdays i have friends who have hard time finding a job while they already gotten there master degree's and others are in a high paying job through there experience and knowledge of there work. I work in accounts but I don't have a degree or anything, I have just got
the experience. I worked my way up from the bottom from my last two
jobs and just bettered myself. If I was to get a degree I would get loads
more money but I don't see myself doing accounting any longer it boring.

This is simple...certain jobs REQUIRE degrees in order for you to get them. And, others pay MORE to people with MORE education. I don't care how smart a person is, you can't be a Doctor without that piece of paper.

So, degree = necessary for SOME professions.

Depends on the industry and what the details of the job are.

it's all about the baby boomers...people that are working and successful, have veen working for 20 plus years, the problem is we're becoming more greedy as a society. While all the people of yesteryear are sittin on 2 million to retire with, we STILL are waiting for them to retire, there an't any jobs because blue collar work is becoming less and less as technology improves, and the people who got jobs back when everyone needed help, refuse to retire on liess than 500 million dollars. You literally have to find the career you want, get your degree, find where you want to work, and if there not hiring, try 10 other places, and find the one with the most people, who are closest to retiring, than you spy on those companies untill you know they need help, and you go all out in presenting yourself.

The way I see it, a piece of paper from some school saying I know how to build a bomb (what I do for example) as apposed to someone that's been doing it for 30 years but lacks that piece of paper, means nothing and everything.

Some places are different, some don't care about degree's aslong as you can do the work, and some don't care if you can do the work unless you have a degree.
