God is NOT a clown
 

There was this "research" done on the power of prayer. Apparently, some group "prayed" for cancer patients to see if there was an improvement in their conditions. The study found that there was not marked improvement in the patients who were prayed for.


umm...

First off, God is NOT a clown. So, they can't expect God to swoop down from heaven and do tricks because they snap their fingers.

Second, exactly who was praying and whom were they praying for? As far as we know, they could all have been non-believers just throwing up a prayer as part of this experiment. Tell me where in the bible it says God has to jump when we snap our fingers. Furthermore, if someone has rejected God all their lives, cursed God, and not attempted to serve and/or praise him, then why should God heal them of anything? eh ehh...It doesn't work that way. If these people who prayed for the cancer patients would study God's character in the bible, they'd know what it took to move God to act on your behalf. Just haphazardly throwing up prayers and hoping God hears you isn't the way to do it.

God is not a cosmic errand boy.

That's not scriptural. Yes, the bible says "God will not despise a contrite heart" And, it also says, "He causes his sun to shine upon the just and unjust." But, that doesn't mean that God has to respond in your time. That's what I'm saying. These people concluded that prayer doesn't work because it didn't happen right away. That's laughable because from studying the scripture, God rarely responds that way. Also, if someone hasn't accepted God and has cursed him all their lives, God wants to here one thing from them, "Save me and forgive me" not "Gimme this and gimme that"

What fuckin idiots. Any christian would know an investigation like that has no bearing in anything... and any atheist or agnostic who takes it seriously is a dumbass.

What's funny is this: Saul in the bible persecuted Christians in the early church by murdering them. Then, God converted him on the road to Damascus and changed his name to Paul. I believe that people who continue to "kill" the "faith" of Christians and others by putting out this type of mumbo jumbo risk facing God's judgment. It is quite a terrible experiment. So many variables it could qualify as an algebra problem...
