I'm a bus boy at this resturant, and I make 10% of the waitresses tips, and I made $25 in tips in 5 hrs, and I get paid $3 an hour. So in the end, I made $40 in one day of working. Not too bad I think.

Waiters get payed below minimun wage because of tips. If you fully read Rev's original post you'd see he made $40 in 5 hours, which = $8 an hour...and that's about how much I made working a full-time painting job. So waiters have it pretty good, especially at fancy restaurants.
