i ask my pops to get me a mic...and he cops a $9 dollar computer mic and it's horrible i wanna kno if theres any way i could rig to where it'll sound presentable :huh:

depends on where you go man..u can make anything sound decent if u read the TuT's

depends on the type of voice you have. Not all mics are created equal.

yo... i got a 10 dollar piece of shit too and the tut apexx did is helping me out a lot til i get my mic... only thing i can't get rid of right now is that annoying buzz in the background but it's nowhere near as noticeable as i thought it would be... peep my newst track.... done on a ten dollar mic and broken headphones.... Actually, for that price you can get the Samson C01U from www.sweetwater.com

It's a mic that connects to your USB port so you don't need any phantom power.

And if you looked at what i just typed and started scratching your head and a cartoon bubble popped up above your head with a question mark in it, then this is definitely the best way to go.

Basically, you plug it into your computer and start recording instead of messing with amps and connections and shit :thumbup:™

bro, if you got $80...don't get a C01U. You will NOT end up with a marketable sounding tracks. a digital mic that's only 16 bit??

The CO1U serves its purpose...If he's on a budget and doesn't want to cop a pre amp, then it's very flexible. It's also a good mic for people with lap tops.

Are there better mics? Of course...dude could spend upwards of 10,000 on recording equipment. It's all in what he wants to do. If he's doing what most people on RV are doing, then the C01u is good enough.

man, I'm not tryin to turn this into some debate.

the C01U serves as nothing but a toy. people who are "playing" with rap, not serious yet and realistically have no marketability because the shit sounds sub par. No matter what level of underground you are, no mixtape, no other artists the public all knows, no radiostations or nothin is playing tracks that sound that poor no matter WHAT you're saying.

end of story.

save your money and spend it on something that when people listen to it, they'll immediately know this isn't a game to you, and you've investment into your self.
