Question for people who like to talk about the word "Nigger"
 

Black fellow says to a white fellow: "You're my nigger."

If the white fellow responds: "Word, you're my nigger."

Is that racist or is the black fellow at fault for using the word?

I saw this happen in real life, the white fellow played it cool and only said: "Word." though.

It was weird for me, I came from a town of like 17, 000 and honestly, there was no black folk in our town, none in high school or anything and people used the word all the time in a non racist way at all, I mean there was no black people. Then a black person came to our school and started fighting people over it, it was gay.

One time this white guy called this black guy a nigger at my school so me and my friends and the black guy started beating him upp... IT WAS AWESOME!!!

What I don't get is why it's cool for spanish people to use the word, like puerto ricans and shit, but mexicans can't really, and neither can chinese, arabs, indians etcc

It's cool for spanish people to use the word because they're treated in a similar way in America. Asian people saying it makes alot of people uncomfortable. And as for a black person calling his white friend my nigga, most people who get caught in those situations already get it. The black dude uses it in the same way hed call his black friends that. Nigga just somehow replaced homie. The white person saying it in general would be considered wrong by most people, but I've seen some people be ok with it because they know their intentions behind it.

If compose or Rev or Blay said the word to me I'd be cool with it because I know they don't have any bullshit meanings behind it. Alot of people use it not because they look at black people as niggers but because they know black people don't want them to say it, therefore by saying it to them it means they're brave or some shit. Theres alot of complexities surrounding the word. It not only depends on the person itself, but their intentions behind it. I don't say it, but I don't care if black people or white people who I know say it. And by "say it" I mean just calling someone the word. Not just saying it in general.

But yeah, I used to say nigga all the time. I'd say it to my white friends, black friends, it didn't matter. I'd say "I got away with it because......." but there was nothing to get away with. Its the way it flows from your tongue that lets people know how you're using it. If you say it with hesitation or looking around for acceptance, then you obviously know its wrong for you to say it, so you shouldn't have said it in the first place. But if you just say it in casual conversation daily with people who know you, there's really no harm in it. Wer had a dude in our neighborhood we called Nigga Mike cause there was too many Mikes in our crowd. He took no offense, it was just a way of identifying which Mike you were talking about.


And to be honest, I don't really use the word anymore. I outgrew it. It was part of my vocabulary when I was in Philly cause of what I was around. Now that I've been in the army for a long time, moving from place to place, I just stopped saying it :thumbup:

No one gives a shit about slavery. The only people still talking about slavery are white people who say black people talk about slavery. Everyone were slaves at one time or another. What people are talking about is the present. White and asian people are kind of in the same position. Except asian people worship white ppl and white people accept their worship. Speaking in massivly general terms obviously though. But thats the only way to talk about this kind of shit.
