It's easy to answer to no one
when you don’t know one answer
searching blind to find my niche
and get a grip until my hands hurt
yeah man thirsts for knowledge
but the hunger for attention consumes
everything in it's path just to attach
the admiration of a few
confused most of the time we climb
never quite understanding the ascent
only hoping to see the top
forgetting to give thought to what it meant
but does intent really justify
doing whatever it takes to succeed
I mean who's to say there's a right way
to a place we may never reach
cuz forever can teach us to believe
in something that ends tomorrow
admittedly naive nobody wants to leave
the peace beneath a star's glow
yet it seems a heart broke can usually mend
the pain once defended by feeling
for we often mis-diagnose that which is close
in hopes it grows appealing
