Why is 'aint' not a word in the dictionary?
 

Everyone uses it...

Yet I cant find a dictionary that has this word listed..

maybe they'll add it soon so i aint gotta use "isn't" in my coursework to avoid bein penalised for incorrect grammar.

it's because it's an abbreviation of are not

people who say "it ain't worth it" for example are using incorrect grammar because the actual phrase it should be is "it isn't worth it"

well actually thinking about it, ain't really isn't a word anyway, it's a form of slang because in the english language, the term isn't is the more correct term...

bit of a brain teaser, but either way it's grammatically incorrect and slang

yeh but why can't it be added as a synonym of the word isn't

it could easliy be incorporated into the dictionary but people too tight to do it
i bet even the queen probably says aint sometimes lol

teachers always tell me aint isnt a word.
but i tell them.. if i can say it ..then its a word.
