...how can you make the file smaller without changing it?

if your using photoshop when it saves, just put the quality down.
or you can make the file smaller, or get a file compressor.

omfg u idiots....first thing to do is...lower the quality in photoshop...next make the image smaller it should be about 110px x 110px if it doesnt have anything on it but just an image...if it has text make it 100 x 100px

Or just convert your Jpeg to a Gif.

^^yeah. Gif's dont' have half the color data that a jpg does. The bigger dimentions of the file, the bigger the difference between the conversion of one to the other. peace.
