Competition With Myself

Common sense tells me this is all worthless
my mind echoing that I’m render less
when I know the truth, I know what’s real
cuz in my heart I can tell what I can feel.
Losing ground daily to my conscience,
fighting and biting my way for a just a tenth
of a second of a little heaven I’ve spent.

Listening to my spirit, challenging my mind
pushing my body to the limit line.
Breathelessly I trudge on with a definite goal
I evoke my whole being upon,
The world is my pawn, I tell myself,
play to win and win to play, there really is no other way.

Fighting with myself everyday wondering if this is the
end I say?
Then I rise to the challenge no matter the outcome because
in the end I’ll be stronger than where I started from.
Pray for me, befriend me, tell me you hate me,
give me some motivation some energy to tantalize me.
Sway me, impress me, never underestimate me,
because I am a threat, I am a competitor, I may lose but you’ll
remember me forever.
