is an m-audio mobilepre USB pre amp a sound card and pre amp sorta deal??? meaning if i buy it i dont need to buy a soundcard???? cuz if so im gonna get a 100 dollar condenser mic (lookin around) and the m-audio!!!! wat yall think!!! im sorry i been postin so much in this forum, but i dunno shit bout this and aint got money to be wastin on shit! so please try to understand u just helpin out a newbie lol!!! peace and plz no hate!!

it sucks ass, if ur gonna get the usb recording... go with the m-box, mackie spike, or digi 002....

um, the maudio is fine, theres nothing wrong with usb recording people, all it does is TRANSFER the data to the computer instead of sending it as an audio signal, so there is no quality loss from recording device to cmputer.

i dont think he has 450 for the mbox or mackie spike, or fucking a few g's for an 002....

im just givin u some options with usb recording, cause its not really the way to go... if i were u, i'd rather go with firewire or pci... usb sucks...

Can you please type in english? The main reason for some to buy a USB pre-amp is for mobile capabilities such as lptop recording. One more thing, If your saying you wouldn't buy one why tyhe hell did youy just make a thread about this? Your sir are an idiot.

SAME FUCKING THING, just different means of connecting the audio interface TO the computer.

pci having the lowest latency

firewire second

and usb close third behind firewire (usb 2.0)

and most likely the latency for recording on a good usb interface is going to be like 15ms....nothing that you are ever going to notice honestlly.

so go buy the mobile Pre, a condenser, and a pop filter.

learn how to mix your tracks down, and i guarantee you have better quality than 90% of the kids on this and many other sites
