Its freedom of speech criticized by politicians. It's the voice of the man expressing his poetic views on life. You can express your views through forms of fashion, dance, or poetry. Rap is the stereotypical form of hip hop which people tend to look at more due to its popularity and seem to criticize and put out the bad image for hip hop. I don't care what it is to you, but it is a lifestyle to me.

yea the culture is pretty cool... and despite me loathing gangster rap, the musical variety within itself is vast...
