Getting married is a religous action. That is the contrevorsy. we have mixed church and religion. so gays cannot marry because its against our religion. but at the same time being married is recognized as more then just a religious thing. its how the United States works. Men/Women get married and certain benifits/ stipulations happen. if you are not legally married there are many things you cannot to that a legally married couple would be able to.

getting married isn't a religous action. When you get married you want to spend you life with someone. Then once your married it's a legal fact. Seperation of church and state makes it a non-religous thing via the constitution. Therefor it should be legal.
