Marbury To The Knicks?!

NEW YORK - Stephon Marbury would return to his hometown as part of a multiplayer trade tentatively agreed to Monday by the New York Knicks (news) and Phoenix Suns (news), a source told The Associated Press.

The Knicks would acquire Marbury and Penny Hardaway from Phoenix for Antonio McDyess, Howard Eisley, Charlie Ward, the rights to Milos Vujanic and cash, according to the source, who is close to one of the players and spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity.

Another source, close to one of the teams, said additional players were involved.

suns are done...... Like there losin and u gotta make a move... but not tradin stpeh.. hes always been good but last season he realized how to really play the game..... They had a future but they still good...

This is actually a good move if you think about it.

Suns aren't going anywhere with a point guard like Marbury, trust me.

They obviously did this to dump salary. So maybe they can pick up a good point guard at the end of the season or somthing.

Sun wanna clean house, The Knicks wanna get a marque man to fill up Madison Square Garden.....

So it works out for both......

Accelerate 01-05-04 05:14 PM

It would be a good trade for both sides.
Phoenix would hopefully get a healed Mcdyess, which is the biggest gamble. Eisley is decent and deserves a better team. Ward is also decent but he is old. The Knicks benefit by getting Marbury as a P.G, and can transform the team, but it works out for the Knicks eliminating 2 of their 4 P.Gs. As for Hardaway, I haven't seen him play for a while, lets hope he still got it.

DEL the funkee 01-05-04 06:09 PM

and lmao at penny hardaway

Looks like he will have to be the sixth man, because he's not starting at 2guard with Houston there.....

Mr W.Rite 01-05-04 06:35 PM

personally i dont think marbury will be able to handle the pressure of playing at home..
i mean he said himself that he felt extra pressure when he was in New Jersey because he knew his family and friends would be at the games...
we'll see how this works out

and oh yea....dumb move by the suns too..

Koalatee 01-05-04 08:51 PM

Yes, Dizzle hit the nail on the head - Starbury'll sell out the Garden nightly . I'm a die-hard Sixer fan, & would consider buying a Knick jersey solely because of his presence . It's good for both, but, who the hell is going to run the point in Phx?

The End 01-05-04 08:54 PM

That's great for the Knicks. I've also always liked Penny back from his Magic days. I may have to go to a Knick game or two this season now..
