Shooting Magnolias
There’s a girl outside on the corner waiting. Waiting for someone to love her. Someone to love her enough to give her money so she can feed her growing family. There’s a girl staring at a mirror. All she sees looking back is ugly. She turns her face in disgust. The hideous bruises and scars are too hard to hide. Confined within the walls of her own prison. Everyday its the same routine. Every night its the same cold dinner. A dinner that’s been sitting for hours waiting to be eaten. ‘Living with him’ she thinks, ‘is like shooting magnolias’ -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Distant Memories Ink seeps from my pen, slowly coating my hand as I spill it onto this paper writing of distant memories and people I’ve lost. Its all I have left. Everyday, hanging onto memories and people so far out of reach. These distant memories are my life support. Drifting farther and farther away, like a ship leaving port. The same reveries sever my mind. These distant memories and people so far out of reach. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Carpe Diem Yesterday’s tomorrow is today. Today is tomorrow’s yesterday. And you haven’t moved, still sitting on your couch. Your brain is melting away and your life is slipping away. Rise up, and seize the day. You only get one life, do something useful. Rise up, and seize the day. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gasoline Dreams Gasoline dreams filled with flames and smoke, burning everything to ash. Gasoline dreams filled with cans and lighters. Cans held by unknown hand. Drenching the rooms and everything in them. The cans crash to the floor, and a small flame is lit. The gas ignites the flame and up it goes. A violent reaction. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
shooting magnolias- thats a nice peice, gud imagery and it kep me interseted
distant memories- this 1 has alotta imagery and sounds reel gud out loud ........fav part......... Ink seeps from my pen, slowly coating my hand as I spill it onto this paper writing of distant memories and people I’ve lost. (this 1 also to me has the most imagery in the hole thing) Carpe Diem-the only thing i think of wen i read this is "what is today but yesterday's tomorrow?" Gasoline Dreams- before i even read this one all i can think of is a bunch of kids havina gasoline fight (sumnlike water fight but at a gas pump) like the scene in Zoolander....n e ways.... thats a funni poem cuz the imagery that i get serves wat i thot before reading the poem but the "violent reaction" part just makes me picture the kids blowin them selves up and die lafin..... all in all there r reel nice poems.........keep em comin..... |
