What Is Life???
 

Resembles Life what once was held of Light,
Too ample in itself for human sight ?

An absolute Self--an element ungrounded--
All, that we see, all colours of all shade

By encroach of darkness made ?--

Is very life by consciousness unbounded ?
And all the thoughts, pains, joys of mortal breath,
A war-embrace of wrestling Life and Death ?

i had to read it twice to fully understand
and grasp the message
it made me think
nice and short, no complaints

Very good poem, mostly because it was deep while being short. The poem would have undeniably have ended with mention of war, which is good. It is a great Idea to mention war of life and death in this poem because it is so very true. The vocab is ok, not much to say about it. The structure, unique, bleak, great. the length, short, but perfect. the message deep, heartfelt, philosophical. overall, great poem (sorry for the short response but i dont have much time and it is a short poem.)
