Anyone see the Honda commercial for their Asimo robot during 24 a couple weeks back, where the garage opens up and the robot walks out? Sony has the QRIO, which is also a bi-ped robot that can walk, get up, dance, etc. Found a video at http://pc.watch.impress.co.jp/docs/...218/sony_06.wmv . I haven't been following their development so seeing the robots for the first time is pretty cool. All we need now is the development of very good artificial intelligence. Imagine having robots going into the battlefields instead of people, robots doing housework, construction, manufacturing, and other work. And if they go nuts, then movies like The Matrix and Terminator weren't so far fetched afterall.

The movies like Matrix or Terminator aren't farfetched. We are going to make AI that can control itself, learn stuff from environment, and eventually act as a human. Mostly like th A.I movie. But i think its pretty cool, considering i will be dead by the time they have AI like that

Maybe farfetched wasn't the right word to describe it. In the future (distant?), there will definitely be extremely good AI were robots will be able to learn and maybe even develop freewill.
