eminem

on eminems first cd infinite he came with most excellent lyrics
good punches and vocab with beautiful meta4s

I showered the slang, simple as A,B,C's
Skip over the D's and rock the microphone with E's
Dethrone MC's and I'ma max alone
Relax your dome like a solo from a saxophone
So facts are known, writers get treated with shocks
I rock a beat harder then you could beat it with rocks
I'm greeted with flocks, of fellow follower's singers
You couldn't make the fans throw up their hands if they swallowed their
fingers
But you can bring yours let's see what you got
But don't front and never try to be what you're not
Cause you can be quick, jump the candlestick, burn your back
And fuck Jill on a hill, but you still ain't Jack

Rappers always try their hardest on their first album because they no they've got everything to play for. Once they've instated their name on rap then they don't see the point in trying so hard and spawn cliched shit knowing it'll sell platinum anyway.

I noticed eminem recycled a aprt of Nas' song ether. In the background when nas chants "I.Will.Not.Lose", Eminem does the same thing on Xzibit's man vs machinealbum track 11 @ 3:32 in the backgorund he chants i will not lose. Whaddaya think?

Crossword 03-12-04 07:41 AM

things is recycled all the time. And most of the people that recycle it are usually not noticed for it. Like vanilla ice got his hit by recycling a rock songs music, he went to court and everything after he made millions, but not many people know that he did that. SO i dont think it really matters that he recycled it.

As for him being weak now, I dun think he's too weak. And i hate the cats that say i d/r him, Which is shit when ya'll act like ya fight if i say shit about Jay-Z or Cannibus. But i'm hoping Em's new album is tight, cause ima get that shit right when it hits.

It's nice to be around fans that understand rap; I recall many groupies yelling about how horrible "Infinite" was. I thought it was tight as hell.

If you compare it to Em's newer work- well, it's much different. His voice is just so recognizable and distinguishable now, it's great, much more powerful than it used to be. However, his first album had a kind of calm, cool feeling to it, not all hectic and angry as he is today (not that that's a bad thing or good thing in anyway).

I remember many saying his first album sucked, and I think it pissed Em off. And so Slim Shady was born- and in his next album, we witness a complete mirror of Infinite. He's angry, he's funny, he's dissing countless people, and it seemed to launch him to stardom.

Sometimes I hate to say it, but it seemed like a mixture of raw talent and slight (very slight) "selling out" that made Em so popular- it was neccesarry. No one would take a white rapper seriously unless he became noticed. Eminem was so determined, it's really inspirational, and he dominated the music industry and now he's a household name.

Now that everyone knows him and recognizes him, he seems to be in a third stage- now it's just straight up gangster rap. His voice is much deeper than before, as well. He doesn't have many puns, punches, jokes... But his music is powerful. "Go To Sleep", fucking awesome song... "Fight Music"... There's so many.

In the end, I really don't think fame has gotten to Em. He's said he tries to think like every minute of fame could be his last, so he never lets it get to him, and everyone who interviewed him has found him to be more humble than they would expect. To accomplish what he has accomplished and managed to be such a great rapper and become so recognized, I beleive he really does deserve all the fame he's gotten.

the slim shady ep is a raw fuckin album...and independance, samples of songs are used in other songs all the fuckin time...theres even a thing in the liner notes that says USED WITH PERMISSION! and the artists name and his label...yadda yadda yadda
