So I don't have cornrows, FUBU Jeans, and an Ecko hat
Does that mean I should stay away cause I ain't nice to look at?
Does that mean I ain't at your level, so I can't nod my head when you walk past
So I guess I'm lower than you, I should be manaully working laying bricks and cutting grass

So you got the clothes, your pants hung low and the S. Carters on your feet
Who you tryin to be anyways? Who's cypher are you trying to complete?
To my knowledge clothes just cover your body, they do nothing more than give heat
So I wear jerseys while you wear rocafella, so does that mean you got my style beat?

My fault, you can keep buying what you want as your dough comes in
Keep spending on the bling, the cars, and the clothes like you a rapper or one of them
So if Jerry down the steet see you in the Cruiser with flames like its on fire
I guess your self confidence goes up, isn't that the goal you were after?

Now I know I know, my clothes aren't payless and they aren't the outlet store
But at least I have extra money saved up, isn't that what we are all really after it for?
Why do you people not realize that money is not at our very core
It's our personality and beliefs, the things that a lot of people have been living and dying for

Instead, we got little kids with the tims on their feet, and gucci is their statement
While their mom and dad struggle to bring in money and still make the car payments
Bank statements are lower and lower because we all want the glitz and the glammour
Kids concentrating on what they look like, instead of their history and grammar

But we as parents and role models don't help the situation
Half the parents don't even know their kids favorite tv show, or whats in their CD rotation
When we really should be helping them, not adding to the complication
Parents buy them clothes at the Gap, but they should be picking up an application

Sure, you don't think of it now, you got an extra $50 in the bank
But if the economy goes bad and your money goes low, who do you got to thank?
You'll be kicked at the crib with nothin left but a cry
But at least you'll be in your mom's basement and your clothes are real fly

You can laugh at me when I take my food to the movie theater cause I aint spendin $3 for some candy
Call me cheap if you want, but when I want to go out of town, I'll have $900 just laying around handy
Cause I know how to spend my money, I've been savin money since cuttin lawns and doin chores
So when you barely makin ends meat with fly clothes, my bank account will be bigger than yours
