Regret
Regret You`re probably wondering why I`m sitting here crying. Well, while you think about life, I think about dying. While you plan for your tomorrows, I`m frightened about what lies ahead. You`ll go on living, but I`ll soon be dead. While you were out playing, I was out doing drugs. While you were in school, I was getting knocked up. While you were getting married, I was tested for HIV. When you said "I do", I said "Why me?"" You say you have no regrets while I have so many. At your funeral there`ll be mourning, at mine there won`t be any. So now I think about my past, careless mistakes. Dear God what a shame, I couldn`t see what was at stake. They say you regret nothing till Death comes knocking. I would`ve lived a clean life if I knew this was coming. So now you know why I`m sitting here crying. I`ve lived a shameful life, and now I am dying. |
Mafia Chick, this was really good. I liked reading it. The writing was very simple and to the point but had good meaning in it, at least to me. I enjoyed how you compared 2 peoples lives together, one being a good life, and the other being not so good. Some writings don't really have any feeling to them, or emotion I guess you could say. This one had plenty. Makes me think either you been in this situation or seen it up close. All I can say is keep your head up and continue writing.
