hip-hop! over the years it's been contaminated with false facts
practically telling us physical abuse is the way to stay on track
the form of music is blamed for domestic violence and allegations
istening to the genre get's you stereotyped with cruel expectations
hip-hop! lyrically infestation came when the legends passed away
money is for expensive things and bling? is that how its portrayed
less serious matter can no longer express ourselves through the form
through it's entire history it changes shape and slowly transforms
to something we would never in our lives believe it could be true
hip-hop! is out of our grasps not in our hold its not in subdue
the music is our right to have but it's been taken away from us
we hear people cussing and the matter is not worth discussing
We all promised to be true to it we even went under a great oath
it only went downhill and hasn't elevated there has been no growth
fake gangsters, italian mobsters also false statements and lies
in ten years I can see it basically in the state on it's demise
but in our hearts and souls it has never lost its really destiny
and thanks to Mr.Kweli and the other its been better multiply
true lyricists taught us to be true and to speak our minds
think of it long then the real essense of it won't be hard to find

I call bullshyt on this battle... this entire verse was used aginst caliph in a topical battle... the topic was hip-hop... caliph wrote his verse as if hip-hop was a female... i think he lost that battle but i remember this whole fucking verse being in it... dawg if you gonna bite at least try not to make it so obvious ... if you were the one battling caliph in that battle then you should know not to recycle ya shyt... either way this battle is bullshyt... omma post the link when i find it
