Do I Belong Here
 

I've been wondering if I belong here. Don't get me wrong I like being here, but am I welcome? I am 16 and a poet/vocalist. I love hip-hop but I am not a rapper, not an mc, or whatever other names you can come up with. I have a respect for it and I think I have a deeper appreciation and understanding for it than most of the guys here. I'm not just into concious, or into party music, I feel like everything has it's place. But some of you may consider me inferior because I am a poet and poets have always stood in the shadows of rappers. I try to come up with intersting threads and I try to have meaningful debate and discussion, but aside from "Most Intellects Do Not Believe In God" my post on the erykah badu song and my signature, you guys are non-responsive. Put a tight as poem on here and I got one reply. WTF? So tell me you guys, do you think this is only a place for rappers or is this place big enough for all of us? I'm not doing this to seek your apprval, just interested in what you think.

i like writers tht aint comin wit all this gangsta shit...........i reckon poets are welcome........of course they are....thts just wot us emcees are doing...we just got a different style....and it dont matter who u r or wot u write....u will still prolly only get 1 reply...thts wot its like on this site............but if u writin then yer u do belong ere......especially if u here to improve............pz

If you are a vocalist then you need to be making or getting someone to make some music for you then put your voice on it and make some money.

There's a whole forum here for poetry if that's how you get down...

hey if your a vocalist..then make a audio..and post it in the audio forum..and people will give u feedback on ur song!

Feedback is always slow.. Aint because people dont like what you wrote, just because people are mad lazy on this site.. This sites a lyrical community, its mainly focused on rap, but there is a lot of poetry inclined people here too.

Just keep bumping your threads and people will eventually read it and leave feedback.

You just typed lots of garbage...browse the main page and you'll see something about poems.

I don't really wanna be amongst just poets, that's why I semi avoid that part of the site. Except for the time I posted a poem and got 1 reply.

everybody belongs in this site as much as everybody else, and if you want people to read your poem just up it,

i think that you have to be a poet to be an mc...if you arent a poet then your not a real rapper.......thats just my thought...and if you got vocals then that is good becu you can sing some of the chorus's in some of these songs that these kids are making becuz we aint got no vocalist.....but yeah those are my thoughts
