Rapping as a career ?
Im wondering how many kids here actually wanna make rap their full time job. Personally, rap lyrics n music is something I live for, I love hearin new dope rap tracks.. Theres been nights where I been high n drunk off my guts jus listenin to tracks trippin off my head at what the artists are saying with their lyrics. And that shit is fucken amazing.
Thats why next year Ill be trying to get into a sound engineering coarse so I can hopefully get kick started in the music industry. Get some experience producing and all that shit. Is there anyone else here making moves to try n get into the rap game as a profession ? Or do you just write lyrics as a hobby and a bit of fun to come onto rap sites ? |
Im fixin to do a record some time within the next two months (hopefully)....i was goin to do it at a studio but the prices are MAD.....so im gonna do it on my new comp....i already got the beats.....all i need is like cool edit pro or sum shit like dat.....look out The Sickness Coming Soon.......Holla

He's right . . & to even be considered you dont need to be an ill rapper... You need to be decent . . who can rhyme normally Also having a dope producer is more important than the rhymer in the industry . . You need to look like a hiphop artist and not some skinny stupid fake looking punk who can rap i l l . . The industry dont sign SKILL . . they sign you baised on the way you can FLOW and if you sound good on a track & look like people would look up to you . . they would probably get back to youi . . IF you some skinny ass nerd who rhyme's illness .. BELIEVE me just look for a proffesion. |
lyrics dont sell albums anymore.
chorus's do. |
i disagree... yall ever heard of brother ali? dudes an albino.. made it big wit his lyrics
you gotta have faith.. and if you truely love it, you'll go for it.. if all rappers thought like you they would never be where they are now |
people are entitled to there oppinions.
im just stating the obvious thats all. these days people aint listenin to songs for the lyrcis, if they were there wouldnt be no 'crunk' |
..main you have mainstream mind..
..I can carelless if my record sells..I just want respect as a lyrisist.. ..jay-z and nas and pac and big didn't get there with choruses.. don't judge rap by TRL and 106&park man |

^^ thats so wrong tho.
i listen to mostly canadian artists, n canadian raps alot different from what you would classify 'mainstream'. jay z nas biggie tupac.. how long ago was that? the games revolved it aint like it use to be. chorus's sell now. |

ye..
but I don't care about record sells.. I just want people to respect me.. Chorus's are just shit to let you remember the song better.. keeps it in your head..but you don't buy people with a good chorus's album..you buy people who make you go OOOOO at least I do.. |
