I know it's a thread about it already, but...
I've never seen anything like what happened during the Pistons/Pacers game in my entire life...
If a fan shouts out obscenities, insults, or heckles, then he's just being unruly. But, throwing things on players is unacceptable. That "fan" should be removed from the stadium. However, I feel that players are professionals and have to be held to a higher standard than the drunken fans who worship them. These ballers are huge, muscular guys. What if one had killed a man by punching him too much or too hard? They would definitely not feel retaliation on the part of the player was justified then. It's unfortunate this incident happened because children were there and can be traumatized by something like this.
I hope in the future the NBA takes more precaution to ensure this won't reoccur.
PS...I don't blame the fans for throwing soda and popcorn on the players as they were being dragged into the locker room. They shouldn't been acting like idiots.
