The 2004 RV Awards...
 

...are gay.

I think I'm winning two. But I think they're still gay. Let me express my opinions.

1) There are some gay ass awards (Best Looking male & Female? wtf?)
2) Even Gayer Awards (Longest Crew? uh... C.S.... Richest member? fuck that)
3) any one can vote on anything. This is retarded. You have Phenom-In-All, who's spent maybe 1% of his RV career looking at open mics... able to vote on best open mic. Or I could go in and vote for best poet... and I have read 2 poems in 2years on this site!!!!!

Here's the solutions...

1) Make Good Awards... like... Best Topical Head!!!!

2) Stop making obvious awards.

3) get like a couple councils... one for text, one for topical, one for audio, one for OM, and one for anything else. Now chose like 5 to 9 people for each council, but these people would be mods and experts in the field. Due to there being say 9 people on the council... they would have to have at least 7 members to agree on the award... preventing those people on the council from winning those awards easier.

There will be flaws with this plan... and we'd have to work through it... but the best, and most logical plan is this:

NO YEARLY AWARDS!!!!!

This site isn't even a year old. Why everyone must feed their egos? I could give a fuck less about an award. But If your going to do something like this, do it right.

Maybe at the end of May or June... have the yearly awards... cuz most kids on here who are considered vets haven't been here long enough to be vets...

I also agree with you on the graphix awards... they get no respect.

G Deuce was the best graphix head ever on RV... and yet no one knows cuz Graphix don't get any respect.

Ya, the RV awards have best textee and all that, but nothing about graphics. But back to the 2004 Awards, it was an ok idea when is started, but now it's a joke. Most kids on here (including myself) haven't been on this site a year, so it doesn't do any good having yearly awards, it seems if newbs last a month that it is lucky.

The idea was taken from rb of course, which has been around longer, so they kind of brought the concept over, so when the site gets older, and people grow with the site, a true "vet" will show through.

blah blah blah... rb turned out sooooo great didn't it.

it's the worst place on the net to be a textcee... cuz you gotta be in the group of ass fuckin' "vets" to be considered good. And they're vets come over here... and have lost alot of battles that they all bragging that they would win.

I just think the whole awards thing in general is pointless, boost for ego maybe but still...There are too many categories to begin with, if they really want to have 2004 Awards, they should narrow it down to few main categories. You're right when it comes to graphics, I hardly check it cause I don't know nothing about that stuff but should get more respect around here indeed!

and this whole RV awards idea is garbage to begin with the site needs to be more established with consetent talent before something like this happens

Close the awards....start making Monthly Mags for RV so that way Everybody will get recognized for shit because the awards are the same every month almost ..same people win all the time. and this will be a manditory thing ...
Pick 5 individuals for Each category...

5 for poetry People
5 for open mic
5 for text battles
5 for newbies
5 for Vets
5 for audio open mic
5 for audio battles
5 for graphics
5 for graphic battles
(etc)

use all the categorys...With the Poetry open mics and graphics.....you should pick the individuals that stand out the most and the ones who arent doing so good.

with the battles ... you should pick 5 of the best/worse battles from each category.


some shit like that..get shit organized and better that way some of us can elevate with some wise words from wise individuals who know how to critique a person's material.
