when i was small i was always infuatated with words
in school skimming through dictionaries to taking all those spelling bees
but never could stay outta trouble commiting all those felonies
but couldn't help it, that was the only thing to do at the time
never had no real friends just ones that got me into crimes
so bored i would make up crazy rhymes to get 'em off my mind
never doin' my homework no matter how much were assigned
and no matter how hard i tried i don't think i could even do 'em if they
were defined, before i knew it time flew by and no more time ta unwind
never was one that liked hints and me and my ma got in so much
arguments, no fuckin' wonder why she bounced from
boyfriend to ex-boyfriend never budged or tried ta bend
always there when i didn't need her when i did, always left at a dead end
always was one to bounce round style from style and trend ta trend
just trying whatever i could do to mix in with the blend
but stood out anyway and no matter how much i can say
this life of mine will always be gray
